Less than 4 miles from Junction 3 of the M50 road and 1 mile from Newent town and Three Choirs Vineyard, the family-run Newent Golf Club and Lodges features bedrooms with attached bathroom with free... Spacious clean room. Liked the breakfast bags. It was nice to know we could contact someone if problems arose (they didn’t ). Liked that each bed had a big bedside table and light.
Beautiful Rural Apt, walking distance to Three Choirs Vineyard/Brassiere Gloucestershire offers accommodations in Newent, 10 miles from Eastnor Castle and 11 miles from Wilton Castle. The property and surroundings are beautiful and tranquil. The host Maria was so kind, thoughtful and helpful!
Unique Countryside Retreat, walking distance to the Three Choirs Vineyard & Restaurant, Gloucestershire enjoys a location in Newent, just 10 miles from Eastnor Castle and 11 miles from Wilton Castle. The location is beautiful. The apartment is pristine. All home comforts in a very modern and stylish setting. So lovely to be able to see the horses and to play with Bailey the very friendly dog .. even if he hasn't quite worked out how to play fetch... Or maybe he has, just on his terms! We had such a relaxing stay, Maria was fantastic and the peace and tranquility was idyllic!
The people in Newent were really friendly and helpful. We shopped at the Co-op and got some ready meals from the Cook range - very useful on our first night as some restaurants were closed on a Tuesday. The local deli had a lovely range of food and we enjoyed a quick half in the pub before going to our accommodation . Will definitely be returning to Newent and looking forward to exploring the local area more .
As I arrived at night, I would recommend that all visitors ask for directions as it was not easy to find in the dark. There was no illuminated sign on the road and no brown signs either, although there were plenty of signs for other properties in the area. I suggest asking the Council for a brown sign.
Great location for walking in the Forest of Dean or along the River Wye. Lovely forest trail starting from Symonds Yat, all marked out. Also enjoyed a river boat ride in this area. Recommend a tour of Westons Cider, with samples to try at the end! Excellent restaurant at Westons, Scrumpys. Newent is a few minutes by car from the Golf Club, so convenient for shopping.
I travelled back from my Snowdon holiday to London, and because I did not want to rush, so just decided to have a night midway. I booked the room online 2 days earlier and payment was made immediately, receipt and invoice waited for me on the top of the bed. There is a golf club on site, the rooms are accessible from a courtyard, mine was a bit dark, but to be honest I was too tired to care of it. There is wi-fi, free parking, coffee/tea/kettle/juice, snack bar. No restaurant on site, but a few takeaway is available to call, there are leaflets and/or business cards in the room. I ordered chinese myself. Bathroom is very tiny, but shower gel/shampoo provided, and the whole place is spotlessly clean. Comfy king size bed with firm mattress (my fav), magazines, TV, a little fridge, but it was very weak. Easy to find, just turn down from the main road. I visited Croft castle (National trust) before my stay, and next day when I left, headed to Chedworth Roman villa, Lodge park then Ashdown house (All National Trust) before reached London. But because Cotswolds is in the neighbourhood, so plenty to see around.
We visited for the Newent Onion Fayre, which was extremely well organised. ..with lots of stalls, onion and leeks judging, good day out and would recommend for next September. Good variety of shops and places to eat. Ate at The Kings Head which was excellent, also lunches at Christian Book Centre which has very good parking behind there. Good variety of shops, food, books opticians, clothing, fish and chips and cafes.
The friendliness of the staff and locals was really welcoming and helpful. We were on a photography trip so visited The International Birds of Prey Centre, Tewkesbury, Frampton on Severn, and Slimbridge Wetlands , recommend all of them.
Beautiful location, close to Newent & amenities. Host was really helpful and hospitable. Would thoroughly recommend staying here 😊
