Offering free WiFi and city views, Pomegranate provides accommodations set in Coleford, just 1.1 mi from Puzzlewood. I felt valued as a paying guest when I was left bread, butter, strawberries and eggs etc. on my arrival. I was also impressed that there were small tubes of shampoo, conditioner, etc. available for my use, including coffee, milk and the like. My bed was super comfortable and the house so clean, you could have eaten off the floor. Impressive! The best establishment I have stayed in for cleanliness, ever! And I have been travelling for thirty years. The town is lovely. It has a great Country Market on a Friday morning. The local butchery run by a lady butcher cuts thick rasher of delicious bacon, and the local bakery is good too. It is a good location from which to explore the Forest of Dean.
Located in the market town of Coleford, the Angel Hotel is a 16th century coaching inn with its own restaurant and bar. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice. The staff were very friendly and helpfull. Our room was clean and tidy with good attention to detail. The bar stocked a good choice of ales and the restaurant offered a good choice of meals at a reasonable price. Overall an excellent stay .
It's a pretty little village. There is an amazing ancient little pub called The Ostrich, welcoming anc the food was very wholesome. The beautiful big church was an incredible sight (we saw it at night covered in scaffolding).
