Absolutely loved our stay here. They are very pet friendly (but also have areas where pets cannot go, which is very fair). I cannot recommend the old court enough, the views around are so lovely and picturesque, the breakfast was delicious. We went back for lunch and they were pretty busy but made an effort to sit our group of 6 which was very much appreciated. Sunday roast was delicious, a few people ordered lasagna and which they said was delicious. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating, thank you!

The Speech House was everything an old English Inn should be. The food is outstanding, and the staff are so accommodating. It may only be rated as a 3 star hotel, but my stay there really felt like a luxury stay. The location is right in the heart of the Forest with several walks available directly from the hotel. The famous Puzzlewood is just a short 10 minute drive.

Lovely room and nice to have a refrigerator in the warm weather! We were right above the extremely noisy outdoor dining patio, but all fell quiet around 10 pm and we had no trouble sleeping. Great location in the heart of Monmouth. Enjoyed visiting with the hotel dog "Hugo" at breakfast.
