Booked a twin room; it had been set with a double bed. The Receptionist and Manager rearranged to twin very quickly so thank you to them. I would revisit Newton Abbot. I enjoyed eating in the Passage House Inn - grateful for the availability of smaller portion sizes on mains.
Everything about the town was excellent, it was clean, there was a good selection of shops /cafes /bars. The people were very friendly. The town also has a choice of supermarkets & good road links to other places. A good base to explore Devon. We were recommended a public house The Highweek Village Inn that serves food. We were made to feel very welcome & whilst the menu wasn't extensive it was certainly adequate ( steak, pies, fish, light bites). It even had a socially distanced quiz which was fun.
Newton Abbot us a small town, well provided for with places to eat, and very good access to to Dartmoor, and surrounding places. Getting around Newton Abbiot is fairly easy specially on foot, with a variety of shops and eateries.
Ten minutes away from Dartmoor where there are beautiful walks, Haytoor rock, Dartmoor ponies who are exceptionally friendly, beautiful scenery. Newton abbot has a great pub scene with half a dozen pubs and cider houses on one road. There are great carveries too. Newton abbot is a real friendly town.
Nice places to drink if you're an ale/ craft beer drinking then taphouse bottle shop is excellent. Great atmosphere and a huge choice. Dog friendly and board games on hand. Alternative is teign cellars also a very good selection of craft and ales. Easy to travel around as bus and train station service to main areas.
An interesting old market town but a bit of a traffic nightmare with the summer holidays coming up. The shopping centre is vastly better than I had expected. The neighbouring countryside is delightful.
Newton Abbot
We needed to stay new the centre of Newton Abbot as my husband was having eye surgery. The apartment was a 5 minute drive from the town so easy access to the clinic, supermarket etc. The apartment was spotlessly clean and really comfortable. Our host was amazing and really accommodating with some last minute changes we needed to make.
Newton Abbot
The whole booking process was faultless. Texts to and from the owner were quick and very helpful Breakfast better than most 4 star hotels. View from the bedroom fantastic. Suggestions from the owner for evening food in the local area were accurate and we had a fantastic meal in Chudleigh. We are certain to return.
The room was immaculate and had all amenities you could hope for. Although the pub itself was closed, you could see it would usually be a lovely place for a meal and a drink. Jeremy was very accommodating and helped us have a very enjoyable stay despite the COVID restrictions. We felt very safe and had a great stay.

Newton Abbot itself is not a tourist spot in itself and VERY hilly - what looks like a short walk as the crow flies on the map in a hill walking expedition. But it is well located for travellingfrom.

Everything that we needed was supplied in the Yurt, David the owner was very welcoming and showed us the facilities and Yurt. The shower/toilet block where only a short walk away and deep cleaned daily, the showers are lovely and hot too! On our second night it never stopped raining but with the log burner in the yurt we stayed lovely and warm and went to sleep listening to the rain on the roof. We will definitely be booking again! Thank you Yurtcamp Devon.
