The bedroom and bathroom were extremely clean (and shiny). There were clean towels everywhere! We had one queen bed and one single bed for two people which was plenty for us. There were working table, an extra basin, tea set (with electric kettle) and snacks provided in bedroom. The brownie was really good. Those snack helped us a lot because we were little tired when arrival. Our room is on second floor with window. The window was clean, clearly see the outside. The room temperature was perfect, not too cold or too warm also because of the weather that night was great. Susan is very lovely. The property was quiet. We didn't hear any noise from anywhere. The front door is inaccessible without the keys which made us feel safe. It's 5 minutes walk to bus station. The stagecoach runs during weekends every hour, explorer ticket can bring you around a lot. I had discount from Booking but this is definitely worth it. We hope to stay longer next time.

This place is lovely and hosts are incredible! Great room and pretty quiet considering the location. The guesthouse is conveniently located for walking into town for food/drinks/shopping and an easy drive to all the hikes and walks in the lake district. The bed was comfy, room was warm (it was pouring buckets when we were there), both the room and bathroom were clean and spacious. Parking was at the front of the building but there is limited space. We had a wonderful cooked breakfast each morning and our hosts were friendly and welcoming (that includes the very friendly 6mth old puppy!). Would not hesitate to recommend a stay here and we will hopefully be back. Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Interior design was amazing inside - very modern! lovely touches in the family room - little colouring packs for kids, their own robes and little juices and snacks for them too in the fridge, cookies on arrival and a fresh milk dispenser right outside the door was brill - especially to fill bottles for babies!! Staff were so friendly in the restaurant also. Will defo be recommending!

Apartment: Clean and kept to a high standard. Really well equipped with everything you need for a self-catering stay. Location: Great location for access to all of the lake district. Particularly great access to Ullswater lake and Glenridding for Helevellyn hikes.

The hospitality at the Black Swan is exceptional. A family run business where guests are made to feel at home. The food is fabulous, breakfast and dinner. The whole place is immaculately clean.

Had an excellent evening meal. Comfortable room and good shower. The breakfast was one of the best. The staff were first class. Have stayed before and would do again.

Great location, nice room and bathroom, the owner's are really nice and friendly. The Breakfast is very good.

Worked great for an overnight stop for us. Loved the pen around the lodge so the dog could come off his lead.
