A lovely town with original small shops, and a market. Local produce available to buy. Avast variety of eating establishments. of different cultures. Two hour free parking in the town certainly seems to be very popular and proves good for the town. Surrounding countryside is lovely
The Abbey and park were interesting and peaceful. The meadows by the river are very attractive. Good to see a well-preserved historic town. The shops are a good mix of essential and gift shopping. The Pickled Plum restaurant at the far end of High St served good meals and service was prompt.
Unfortunately only there for one night- ate at the Pickled Plum- 2 min walk from the B&B,- great pub food, looks as if there would be plenty of lovely walks in the area- I will return with hubby when the Covid situation is resolved & stay a little longer to explore
We just love the area we lived there for many years..The small villages with querky names are a delight to drive around .Lots of bigger places to visit Worcester Cheltenham Stratford on Avon .Pershore is a good place to stay .
Lovely historic little village, by the River Avon. Pershore is steeped in history with the Abbey which is stunning but sadly only limited access because of the lockdown. Lovely riverside walks where you sit and watch the boats go by. Great pubs with riverside views and good eating places.
The town is fabulous, lots of independent shops, lots of lovely places to eat, catering for all tastes. There seemed to be lots pf places round and about too that we can explore when we go back in the warmer weather! The Thai Legend served a fabulous meal in a lovely setting, great service, great food, great price. The Pickled Plum pub served great food too, and plenty of it. The Benvenuti Italian Restaurant was extremely good too, with all types of choices for all sizes of wallet!! I would happily recommend any of these places for a great evening meal, and happily recommend Pershore as a great place to visit.
The hotel dates back to Tudor times and there is a wall painting from that period in the foyer. Our room was fresh and with old mod cons, at the back of the building, overlooking a series of small gardens. It was very quiet with good blackout curtain. The room was beautifully decorated in keeping with the wooden beams. Staff were attentive, friendly and as we are Covid wary, served us with breakfast in our room. The hotel has a temperature check at check in and staff actually wear masks as opposed to draping them under their chins. Lovely.
Pershore
We were met by Mark the proprietor in their car park after we pulled up to see if we needed assistance who guided us into the property to introduce us to his wife Julie who booked us into the hotel. Julie guided us to our room and advised us of all of the facilities within the room and then prepared a coffee for us to relax with. The facilities were great, comfortable and extremely clean and we felt very safe. The breakfast was second to none cooked perfectly by Julie. We can recommend Woodlands 159 to everyone.
Pershore
Breakfast was a full English, obviously cooked using local ingredients, and included in the price which is rather unusual nowadays. The pub is an old coaching Inn with original beams, creaky stairs and a lovely position on the banks of the Avon.. I found it charming and, despite being on Pershore's main road, very restful.
We had a fantastic stay in Pershore. The host was so quick to respond to messages and was very friendly and approachable throughout our stay. As a group of 12, we had plenty of space and particularly enjoyed the outdoor space! The hot tub, ping pong table and BBQ made for an amazing bank holiday weekend!
