We were delighted to receive a very warm welcome from Mr Talbot-Ponsonby, despite our late, if agreed upon arrival after the check-in times. He made sure we felt very welcome. We had room 19, which was spacious and comfortable and well maintained. The breakfast was delicious and had we not planned a long hike along the South Downs Way, we would have happily stayed a bit longer.

Petersfield is a beautiful, quiet and historic get away town. From quaint little cafes, to splendid restaurants, street markets, stunning old buildings and churches - plus a fantastic and not well advertised lake with historic walk round it. Petersfield is always my get away go to - it has all the shops you need, with a few little gems, plus a Waitrose! I mean - have you ever visited a town with a Waitrose and been disappointed?!
A lovely historic town. Plenty of coffee shops, cafes and eateries. Lots of shops to browse with plenty of variety. A weekend market in the market square and a museum to visit. A beautiful lake to stroll or sit by. Plenty of parking and easy to get around by foot.
Great town square and market - a tad too busy Good variety of shops, eateries - lots to see and participate in. Only 3 shps closed (and 2 were being refurbished) Parking cheapish but a bit of a hassle £1,40 for 2 hours The biggest Elephant in the room was clear signs for Tourist Information and there isnt one - CLOSED !! Welcome to the UK - it's Closed - this is a jokn and SHAME ON HANTS Co Council That's a massive turn off as you dont have a clue what's on/nearby/recommended etc etc etc so I left Petersfield not spending a lot (good)
Likeable market town. Most facilities within easy walking distance. Most of the shops 'occupied' - possibly too many charity shops. Psychic garden and The Heath interesting and worth visiting. A good variety of eating establishments. Two day stay probably ideal. Queen Elizabeth Country Park approx. 10 min. drive away.
The Host was very accommodating as to our time of arrival as we had a long journey to reach Petersfield. The welcome by the Host was very warm and friendly. Stepping in to Harry’s Barn is lovely. So well designed with beautiful features. Our visit to Petersfield to visit Family was short but a delightful experience staying in such a pretty and comfortable B & B. The Continental Breakfast was fresh and beautifully presented. I would recommend Harry’s Barn and have already passed on their details to friends who will be visiting our family in Petersfield. I wrote a review of Harry’s Barn on the journey home and now regret my pedantic reasoning. Our stay at Harry’s Barn was absolutely delightful & I apologise to Harriet and her family for making any negative comments. Our rating of Harry’s Barn is 10 / 10
I like Petersfield its a very lovely place to stay very safe you can even park your car in the center of town what a bonus. Its also very close to the seaside with lots of places to visit such as Brighton Portsmouth Southampton, even London is only 50 miles away
Petersfield
We arrived fairly late but the landlord had already spotted us and check-in at the bar was quick enough to allow us to put the kids to bed and sneak in a couple of drinks. Very comfortable room sand one of the best sleeps we had over a 2-week road-trip. Breakfast in the morning was a hearty full english - enjoyed by all. The hotel is in a nice, quiet, country location about 25 minutes from the Portsmouth ferry terminals - much more relaxing and much better value than staying in Portsmouth before/after a ferry.
Petersfield
We loved everything- the view, the garden, the walks etc. But most of all the cabin itself. It's spacious and beautifully furnished and the kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal. There were excellent provisons for breakfast - both for cooked breakfast and muesli etc, as well as other nice touches like salt and pepper, beans, sauces, olive oil, yoghurt and fruit. And lovely fresh flowers too.
Petersfield
It's not the cheapest, but it's still excellent value for money. Fantastic property, spotless clean and the breakfasts are better than any hotel. Petersfield town is a short walk away and is a lovely place to walk round and eat out.
Petersfield
Breakfast was very good but was described as continental, which it wasn’t. It was more a traditional English but with a choice of croissants! Location and hotel setting and outlook from room were all superb.

Very handy for breaking our journey. Excelent meal in the evening and with the bar available we had no need to leave the hotel. A good place to rest and prepare for our onward journey.
