Lovely village with the river and Roman connections. The site of a Timeteam special. The Fox Hole bar restaurant was a great find. The food was great, selection of drinks and wines were and the staff even brought a dog bed, biscuits and a bowl of water for the pooch. Good access roads to get to the village and for us to see the places we had planned to visit.
Had a lovely stay very good value for money. Room was nice but would of been nice to have a bath and also a better view room stated it had a view but we were looking into a road. Food was good and staff were friendly.
great place to stay and explore, the manager Ashley O Byrne was very nice and helpful and had a lot of knowledge to pass along. the room was lovely, food and drink very nice we had a great time exploring the area, would love to stay again if we get back to UK
Piercebridge is a gorgeous little village on the river Tees in a lovely setting. There is only the George Hotel, The Foxhole (does food and lots of gins) and a farm shop in the immediate vicinity, but Barnard Castle and Bishop Aukland are only a short drive away.
The location was fine for visiting my daughter in Darlington, but definitely needs a little upgrading in the block we were in. The hotel had character. Would consider staying again but in different area of the hotel.
Quaint riverside village in a great location to explore Teesdale, Swaledale and Weardale. Not a lot in the village itself couple of pubs/restaurants and a farm shop. Roman Fort but you will need your imagination.
