Queenborough
Located close to the center of Queenborough on the Isle of Sheppey, Queen Phillippa offers high quality bed and breakfast accommodations. Staff very friendly and helpful-nothing too much trouble. I wouldn't take a pet as the dining room forms part of reception and you have to go through to access most rooms. On arrival we bought a drink at the small bar and sat outside in the beer garden over looking river channel and when it got a bit cooler we sat in the summer house, very nice. Comprehensive menu for dinner and breakfast-all food was excellent, we ate dinner there as they were happy to rustle up a vegan meal for a family member. There were 9 in our group and they sat us together and all food was served together and hot!! Our room was comfortable, quiet and had an a/c unit. For an old building it had all modern updates. My only negative comment was our shower was pitiful, we had to report it at one stage as it was a trickle. It may have been a one off issue.

Set in Iwade, near Sittingbourne, Coober Apartment - Home from Home offers self-catering accommodations with free WiFi. The property is 16 mi from Canterbury and free private parking is available. Mitch provided a great pack prior to our stay which really helped us to get in efficiently and to get settled in swiftly. Collecting the keys was easy, the property was lovely, clean and tidy with everything we needed: a genuine home from home that was easy to relax into. The location was brilliant too; very easy to get around Kent and up to Essex from Iwade, which itself is a nice little place. I'd originally planned to stay right on the coast, but this property was so much better, because of it's location it was nice and quiet at night, another added bonus. All in all, a great stay in a lovely location.

Queenborough itself is an industrial area with a coastal view overlooking industry. The B and B is opposite the only picturesque open area -site of an old castle. There's not much to see or do there, but a good base for exploring the rest of the islandThe Bistro is inside the B and B, but runs under a separate business. Staff were helpful. It was very popular with families so book. The food quality varied -our scallops were amazing, but braised lamb disappointing.
Everyone was friendly and welcoming. Loved The Admirals Arm for it's wonderful selection of gins and delicious pizza but all the pubs were great. The Queenborough museum at the Guildhall on the high st was fascinating and the church is a rare find with a stunning painted ceiling! Quaint harbour too. Queenborough is well located for Elmley Nature Reserve and it's just a short drive to other parts of the island.
We stayed for 1 night as we were attending a wedding nearby. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and helpful. The room was perfect very clean and had everything we needed in it. The shower was brilliant hot water and good power. The breakfast was a help yourself buffet which was very good value for money. The only winge is the mattress was a little on the soft side but thats just my preference. Would highly recommend this B&B.
A fair enough place, but it would not be on many ''must do lists'' Easy to access from the dual carriageway A249, which intersects easily the M2 & M20. There is a railway station as well making it a good stop over place. Walking around the creek area and some of the historical parts is a good time filler.
The staff were very friendly. The food was superb, we had an evening meal and breakfast, both were outstanding, nothing was too much trouble. The cleanliness throughout was exceptional, so hats of to the cleaning team, it was spotless, the best I have ever seen, and I have stayed in five star hotels and I have never seen such care, so give them a bonus! Four pubs near by but we like the micro pub best. All locals friendly.
This is not really a tourist area. Very few restaurants and those listed are very poor. Suggest going off the island to be honest as Sheerness is not much better (Rochester is very good). The whole island is very industrial and with limited and basic facilities so unless you are hiding from something, I would suggest another part of the UK's coastline.
