Great being able to see the seals, very quite location. Lots of walks. Would stay there again. Had a snack from the bar, better than expected. Could do with a little spruce up in some places! Creaky floorboards!
Ravenscar is a town that never was! That is, the town was planned but the owner died and so it was never completed. Very few houses. A lovely tea room. A Victorian Square where the station would have been. A disused railway line now used for walkers. Well off the main road..2 and a 1/2 miles. Stunning scenery.
The scenery and surrounding areas were extremely picturesque amazing view over Robin Hoods bay. The restaurant offered panoramic views and was very accommodating and spacious. The only downside was our room on the top floor at the back of the hotel.
We was woken at 3am in the morning by the fire alarm cause by a member of staff. We went down for breakfast which we had to pre order the night before. We had to wait 15 minutes to go in was offered the breakfast before the cereal.Got the wrong cereal tried to explain to the waiter but he didn't understand.Next waited over 10 minutes for the breakfast and when we finally got it,it was not what we had ordered and it was cold.So all we had for breakfast was cereal and cold toast.
Unfortunately unless you are a guest attending a wedding then prepare to be ignored or treated as if you do not matter! The customer service was appalling. Several members of staff at breakfast were rude and very unfriendly. The room we stayed in was outdated and not up to standard for the price we paid. We were very disappointed. The views were incredible and made up slightly for the shabby room and horrible customer service. We will not be returning which is a great shame given the location and views
One of my favourite views is the one from the grounds of Raven Hall. We love to walk down to Robin Hoods Bay on the cliffs and stop at Boggle Hole for a coffee! The seal colony is amazing to watch and listen to from the far end of the grounds. We ate at the Brythstones Inn close by and the food and atmosphere were great.
Great location. A lovely traditional hotel. Amazing view from restaurant. Friendly, helpful staff.
