Ashton (Near Roade)
Set in Ashton, 23 mi from Aylesbury, Ashton lodge farm offers a garden and free WiFi. A continental breakfast is available every morning at the bed and breakfast. Breakfasts were magnificent! Sharron can throw together a full English without any problem - and usually did. I often found sugar cookies left in the room for me. The bed was huge and very comfortable. But most of all, I deeply appreciate the great kindness Sharron & John showed. If I'm back in the UK, this will be where I'll stay again.

Meal at the Crown inn at Ashton. Do not recommend hotel although lady who cooked us breakfast very helpful. Fortunately room was warm and comfortable but rest of hotel looked deserted and derelict.hoping to sell soon and will be closing.
Very clean hotel and room we went down for the Grand Prix not a lot to do about the hotel area but we were only wanting sleeping quarters to go to the Grand Prix the next day IDEAL location for this purpose would go back recommended
As we were there for a family funeral, we didn't expect our trip to be a happy one, but with the help of the lovely staff and the public house over the road. It's was really a great visit . Would highly recommend
What a wonderful little village. The thatch roof cottages were a joy to see. Had everything you'd need in a village. Friendly residents. The village pub served excellent food at reasonable prices. The delicatessens was clean and the food homely. We had breakfast and ordered packed lunches for our trip out each day. The surrounding villages were a pleasure to walk around along with the canal walks which made a great end to lovely days.
Arrived at night and left early next morning so could not form a reasonable opinion but Roade looked a very pleasant village. Visited The Cock Inn for a swift pint. The pub is obviously a "Local" pub and was warm and pleasant with friendly customers. Although we did not eat their food prices looked reasonable and we noticed that the food looked good.
We were only in Roade overnight as we were mainly there to visit friends in a neighbouring village but what we saw of it made us keen to visit again in the future. It is a quiet locality but with easy access to Northampton/local beauty spots. Despite being small in size it had good facilities for a short stay eg:local shop/delicatessen/pub serving nice food/wine bar.
