The Ginger Pig, hotel in Rottingdean

Set in Brighton & Hove, The Ginger Pig is 1.3 mi from i360 Observation Tower and offers facilities like bar and on-site dining.

The room was very good but we could have done with a little more cupboard space. The only space to store clothes were the 2 very narrow upright spaces at the back of the bed.

Hotel Pelirocco, hotel in Rottingdean

On the seafront in central Brighton, the Pelirocco is a townhouse hotel featuring boutique-style themed rooms with free Wi-Fi. The Playstation Bar serves a varied cocktail list.

Stayed in the Ali room for first two nights, then extended another two nights in the Star Wars room, all at discounted rates. The detail in both rooms was really extraordinary and a great way to cap off an otherwise more rugged backpacking trip for myself. Also, I was unexpectedly surprised by how good the range of water temperatures in the shower - very relaxing and better than a lot of other places I stayed at. You could spend a long time gazing at the walls of the place, like a museum. Staff (Alice, Lily) were super-helpful and friendly.

    SUPERB In every way.

SUPERB In every way. Also, the Food, Chicken Dish was Magnificent. Staff were Magnificent too, they looked after us extremely well. We stayed in in 9 Hotels on the trip, The White Horses and another one stood out, head and shoulders above the rest. We would love to come back for a longer stay next time.

The setting of the White Horses was perfect!

The setting of the White Horses was perfect! 2 minutes walk to a great walk right by the sea for miles if you wish! There is a small concert area by the hotel, where we sat and listened to a flute and percussion band for part of Sunday afternoon, a treat! We had a great sunday lunch, followed by a gentle walk, then as sun set, comfortable chairs outside with a beer. The village is historic- Kipling gardens are beautiful and worth a visit. Lots of cafes, the library often has art displays. Plenty of old buildings to see- lovely genuine village.

Rottingdean is a small and pretty seaside town that was a perfect size for our break. The town is quite compact, with shops, restaurants/bars and cafes all in easy walking distance of the centre. There are good walks along the cliff tops and the promenade, and at low tide it is also possible to walk to other neighbouring towns such as Peacehaven along the beach. The town is on the bus route into Brighton and it is also easy to drive into Brighton along the sea front. It is equally a very short distance to the South Downs, so Rottingdean is also an ideal location for those wishing to do some more serious walking as well as seaside activities.

My husband originates from Brighton so we are very familiar with the area. There is lots to do, walking, cycling, travelling is easier by bus as Central Brighton is very expensive to park your car. Lots to do at The Marina. In Brighton, Volks railway, museums, pubs, restaurants, The Lanes, The pier, Brighton Pavilion, Go on the bus further afield to towns such as Eastbourne, Tunbridge Wells, Worthing, Shoreham or hop into your car and visit The Bluebell Railway, The Downs , several National Trust properties. The choice is endless !
