Boasting a seafront location in Sandown on the Isle of Wight, the Royal Pier features an indoor heated swimming pool with spa pool, 2 bars, Wi-Fi access, and easy access to the town center, 2 minutes’... Great location right next to the pier and easy to get to restaurants and shops; staff were friendly and responsive to our questions; pool was clean and we enjoyed a daily dip to start the day (and water not too cold as some of the other reviews say!); room was clean and beds comfortable

Located in Sandown, 1969 feet from Sandown Beach, Chaston Manor Hotel features accommodations with a shared lounge, free private parking and a garden. Lovely comfortable hotel.Barry could not do enough for us and he cooked and amazing breakfast.
Plenty of buses go through Sandown to get to Newport, Shanklin and Ryde. Theres not a great selection of shops but there's a supermarket a short bus ride away. We actually spent most of our days in Shanklin but enjoyed the quietness and friendliness of Sandown later on. The view of the sunrise is definitely not one to miss.
From the moment I arrived I felt a great warm atmosphere with friendly helpful staff, they were warm very experienced, I enjoyed my stay without a complaint. From the manager to work experience everyone provided a great time for all. With an honesty bar brilliantly maintained. The view from window was stunning with a heated swimming pool and very comfortable loungers. Breakfast was spot on and gave the day a great start. I really do look forward to returning. This was my first stay with them.
Sandown was lovely because we were so lucky with the weather it was like the med. I would just like to add that the Sandringham Hotel is not user friendly for older or disabled people. There was one lift but you had to get up almost three flights of stairs to access it. We saw so many older people struggling with this and even younger people with suitcases.
Love Sandown sorry to see so many hotels closed, left derelict and area surrounding such a mess,it lets Sandown down I hope this can be improved soon, buildings restored or replaced, also the empty site on the corner off Victoria Road. It is a shame that most of the park area has been removed due to the crazy golf, out is just too big. But for all the change I still love Sandown.
Plenty of places to eat in town and also on sea front. Several things to see and do for all ages. Beautiful beach the best on the Island as it is very long so therefore does not seem to get too crowded. Downside is the cost of parking every where on the Island there is however an excellent bus service and you can get a weekly ticket if you do not have a bus pass.
Only stayed for a few hours booked into hotel late evening and left by 8am -seemed a pleasant enough place. Walking along prom earlyt in morning everyone seemed to greet each other with a 'Good Morning'. Clean environment not a lot of litter. Would consider it again if island visited in future but it was perhaps not peak season. Nice beach. Not a lot of places open for food (takeaway/sit down) at around 9.45pm - had to settle for the kebab house.
Sandown
From the start parking was very easy right outside the front of the hotel, and we were met on arrival by Barry the manager who was extremely friendly and helpful with advice on where to go in the local areas. A pleasure to talk to. Due to being the quiet season we were even upgraded to a slightly nicer room for free. The complimentary breakfast was great - and i even got hash browns on the second day of our stay after asking on day 1 (no expectation either!) Overall a good location and a lovely 2 day stay.
Friendly seaside hotel, fairly near the beach. Staff were very helpful and asked a member of staff to help us up the stairs with our bags. Food was home cooked and excellent, good choice and reasonable cost. I had left my phone charger at home and they found me one that fitted and lent it to me overnight. There is a carpark round the side of the hotel, which has a ramp for easy access for cases and limited mobility. Couldn't fault them for value for money.
Sandown
I liked the location of the property in relation to where I was working. The free parking was also a bonus meaning that I could walk to where I was working. The proprietors were helpful in that they swapped the room I had been allocated on the first floor to one on the ground floor as I have a disability that makes stairs difficult with heavy suitcases. This was because my booking suggested that my room would be on the ground whereas initially it was not.
I liked a lot of things, like the Sun Lounge in the hotel, and the long sandy beach as well as the pier. I didn't need the shuttle taxi to get to the bus stop for wider travel around the island, just walk along the beach front road in the sunny weather.
