Boasting a seafront location in Sandown on the Isle of Wight, the Royal Pier features an indoor heated swimming pool with spa pool, 2 bars, Wi-Fi access, and easy access to the town center, 2 minutes’... We had a sea view "family" room, which was quite spacious. Our waiter at breakfast was extremely friendly and helpful giving us tips on what to see and how to get there. On our first night, the hot water faucet in the shower didn't work. I told reception the next morning and by the time we got back to the room that afternoon, a new faucet had been installed. Now that's service!

Opposite Sandown’s golden beach, Trouville Hotel is a 5-minute walk from Sandown Pier. This modern Isle of Wight hotel features a traditional restaurant and a leisure center with sea views. The location is perfectly down on the beachfront, right by the pier and the car park is just a couple minutes walk away. The bar and restaurant area were really well kept, with a one-way system in place which worked. Room was lovely, just a bed, fan, kettle and telly but all we needed.

It is nice that Sandown leads down to the beach without the need to go down the cliffs. The beach is all sand. The town is a bit run down but it was really nice to be able to easily walk from the hotel to the beach or high street. I went out of season but there were still many places that remained open. It is nice that dogs can be walked on the beach after the end of September. The hotel had everything that I needed - friendly family hotel, quiet, parking, clean, excellent breakfast, close to the high street and beach.
A certain stretch of the coastal road needs attention. The former Ocean Hotel, a clearly once grand building, along with it's neighbouring properties are abandoned, derelict and an eye-sore. The Council needs to get it's act together and take action to force the owners of the said properties to develop the sites. The main street that runs parallel to the coastal road bears the clear scars of Conservative austerity. One in three of the shops on the street are unoccupied. Again the Council needs to get a grip and generate investment or at very least address the state of each shop frontage whilst unoccupied.
Place is a bit run down compared to past experience - there are recent signs that this is being reversed - but people are friendly and restaurants etc are good and offer good food and value. The beach is ideal for bathing and is clean and uncrowded. The zoo is also well worth a visit. Wonderful for dog owners - it is very dog friendly.
I loved Sandown! The town offers ideal place’s to dine out! The beach is amazing. The bus & trains close by. Such an ideal location. I didn’t have to struggle with hills, for anyone with walking disability’s? This is the ideal location. The only hill is to the beach.. other than that’ it’s just perfect.
Sandown has seen better days! If you look out to see & don't turn around, it's great! The views of the cliffs & out to see are beautiful. The beach is lovely - the bay is great for paddleboarding & my children loved playing in the sand & in the water. The town is a bit grim. There are a lot of burnt out buildings on the seafront - making it look very unloved. Premier Inn is the newest hotel on the front - how they got planning permission for such an awful looking building baffles me. If you want to vape or get a new tattoo, the high street is well-equipped. For anything else, get out of town! Sandown was a great base from which to visit other places, but if we had been stuck there without a car for the week, I would have been cross.
Pier is for little kids and gamblers. Full of arcade machines and a couple of kiddy rides. That's it. Has a nice beach. Good high street with gift shops and couple of supermarkets. Decent priced places to eat are the Old Bank in High Street and Flanagan's near the pier and both are reasonably priced. Their portions are huge and delicious.
Sandown
Just got back from a 5 night stay at the Wight hotel. Our room was very spacious and very comfy. The room was cleaned every day and was left spotless. It was a perfect location being so close to Sandown beach and the pier. The breakfast was fantastic and the people who worked there were all really friendly and helpful! I would definitely recommend to others and stay there again if we came to the Isle of Wight in the future!
Sandown
Greeted by a friendly couple, relaxed atmosphere, good breakfast and nice rooms. Local advice given, good bar. Having stayed at 10+ guest houses and B&B's on the isle of wight we would now make this our first choice. Home now and missing the place - close to Sandown so dinners and attractions within walking distance and ample parking. A++++++
Hotel was in a great location for Sandown town, beach and getting buses about the area The owner could not have been more helpful and accommodating, very pleasant This is a large hotel, the main areas are very pleasant and there is a nice little garden to sit out in if you wish Would we stay again - yes, absolutely
The hotel is showing its age and yet keeps a little regal charm about it. As you walk through the doors you get a sense of what it must have been like in its hey-day, the same kind of feeling you get when you visit your grandparents. It was dated yes. But it was clean, functional and perfectly presentable.
Special thanks to the owner of the hotel JOHN! The place has its own character, perfect location with 5 minutes walking distance to the beach, friendly and helpful staff. Our stay in Isle of Wight was best with Altavia hotel! Our warm wishes from KAZAKHSTAN✨✨✨

Nearly brand new house, very clean, really nice to stay. Close to the beach -10min walk.kitvhrn with everything you need, even bottle of vine. If not very small beds it would be perfect
We requested for breakfast at the time of booking by ringing the hotel. But when we went to restaurant for breakfast, we were told that we should have booked it via booking.com
Great location for exploring that side of the Island. Close to car park for unloading. Nice evening sunsets from the lawn. Clean and tidy.
Best beach view from the hotel. Close to other attractions and places. In my opinion the best beach in Sandown.
The hotel is pretty central to Sandown town and the beach
