Sandy is nicely located in Bedfordshire. It is a short drive to Milton Keynes, Peterborough and Cambridge. It was a nice place to relax and take a short break away from our busy lives. The food at the Kings Arms was fabulous. I will definitely be returning.
The doorways were just wide enough to fit our pushchair through. All the staff were very friendly but not professional as they dont even have a uniform which is strange for a hotel. Its not easy to turn right out of the hotel. The postcode takes you through the back of the petrol station but u can just access it via the roundabout
Although we were staying just outside Sandy at Days Inn we went into Sandy a few times mainly in the early evening to eat, we can highly recommend China Express wonderful food and service, we also enjoyed some fish and chips which were very nice from, I think it was The Town Fryer, and we sat eating them in the car while noticing what a lot of buses seem to serve Sandy in the evening.
Manager gave me £19. Credit to pay remainder at check out. But could not add a £15.00 to £20.00 food bill to my room. I am diabetic some how card didn't work. I was at an appointment my phone was switched off. I booked my stay with booking. Com. They Emailed me payments made paid. So I was relaxed. The cash I paid over the desk was my food & drink money. So I paid it with the petty cash on me. I had to use my breakfast voucher at the desk for dinner bill. Next day I ate 11.30 am the toast Emily brought me then I had my diabetic medicines. He could not trust me.
Sandy, itself is fine just the hotel I was forced to book was a disappointment. Try the local B&Bs. Food at the “Gandhi” Indian restaurant is excellent, well worth a visit. RSPB Sandy Reserve is an interesting spot for a stroll.
The Market Square in Potton is so lovely. This time of it is all lit with Christmas lights. There are quaint shops I particularly like the fragrance bath shop i don't think the title is correct but it's in the square and worth a look
