Lovely old village in church square right by the river also super cafe at nauticalia on ferry road with ferry to other side of river right by . This is a really good area for walking and wildlife.....we watched a cormorant catch a fish right in front of us on the river.....how often would you see that?
Our hotel, Holiday Inn, was located in tranquil surroundings away from main road, newly refurbished and with friendly staff. There is a good bar on site and OK restaurant for families, but not suitable for a fine dining. Shepperton Lock/Towpath, off Ferry Lane is a lovely place to walk and have coffee at The Ferry Coffee Shop. Shepperton is within 15 min drive of Thorpe Park, so while youngsters can have some adrenaline rush, more mature family members can appreciate location with lovely walks along Thames towpath. After, rejoin for a family dinner to go over day's experiences.
We were at a wake of my best friend The place was absolutely fantastic, especially sat down by the Thames in the evening The room was crisp and clean Overall brilliant Even Bobby Davro popped in for a beer Will definitely come for another visit, hopefully better circumstances Great job from the staff too
The hotel is under renovation . On the booking.com website it stated that the restaurant etc would be closed until 31st June but was still closed when we stayed. We were meant to meet friends in the bar and couldn’t and the grab bag breakfast was awful -little thought gone into it and so basic. Really disappointing overall .
Waitress in the evening charming Menu poor, room service poor, cleanliness poor, duty manager rude.didnt.get itemised bill. We were staying there to be able to attend my sons wedding, otherwise would have left immediately.
Shepperton is close enough to many tourist attractions, and London, to be useful but is also away from the main hubbub of the capital. I enjoyed a relaxing brunch and walk along the nearby river, after checking out of my accommodation.
We spent the afternoon at Kempton races the hotel is a 10 minute drive fron the racecourse.
Location was fine. Hotel looks nice but it is run down. Breakfast ok.
