Skipton is a lovely town. There is plenty of places within reach of the centre of the town to go see without having to go very far. lovely pubs with very nice food served. The canal trips on the barges with and without food are lovely!. a really good selection of shops up the high street. We stayed at Whooly Sheep ,we have been to stay there a few times . Even if you dont stay there the food and the selection of drinks is brilliant , Bizzy Lizzy fish and chips are second to none love to sit by the canal is a lovely pastime on a lovely day. But all your days at Skipton are good days.!! The market in the high street is brilliant.
Skipton is a busy and interesting small town. Plenty to see and do in the surrounding area. Train station with easy access to Bradford and Leeds. Overall a great place to base yourself for visiting places of interest. Although a car is probably essential for many sites. Eg. Brimham Rocks.
Its a lovely market town with good restaurants and cafes. The castle is well worth the visit. There are a couple of shops that I always visit when here and the market which is on the main street I think 4 times a week is well worth a visit. Very friendly town.
Nice little town lovely canal with nice boat trips very picturesque. Lots of coffee shops pubs and eateries to choose from A visit to the castle is a must..Also a nice market a couple of days a week to visit
Been many times, but never long enough to explore properly. Visit to the Castle a must. Great High Street market. Visited Grassington whilst there - only 20 minutes on the bus. Great place and great people. Best meal was Bizzie Lizzie's fish and chips, though there are plenty of places to eat. Most pubs serve food. Best pub was The Woolly Sheep. Has pretty much the complete range of Timothy Taylor's cask ales on and very well kept.
Pleasant 25/30 minute walk along the canal from the hotel into town (a torch recommended for night time though). Very picturesque and pleasant town. Late night eating on a Sunday is not greatly available, so booking in advance is recommended. Castle (chargeable) and Castle grounds walk (free) recommended. Very good live music bar which sells records, tea and beer.
Skipton
Lovely little find for an overnight stay with friends. Host was super friendly. Room was very clean, comfortable and had everything required for our stay. Host gave us ideas of where to eat. Was parking at hotel but slots were full, we were able to park on the road nearby. Breakfast was tasty and very quick service, which was great as we had an early departure. Few minutes walk into the centre of Skipton. Don't stay in guest houses that much but would happily stay again.
Skipton
It is a beautiful little cottage in a quiet, peaceful area. The owners also have a pub next door with delicious food. The owners live upstairs, but give plenty of space for privacy and there is an outdoor space with seating for the summer months. We spent a lovely few days there, and really enjoyed our stay. If you are looking for a relaxing stay in the countryside, or even a hiking holiday, I would highly recommend.
Could not fault this hotel in any way 10/10. Good walking distance from Skipton, staff were exceptional as was the food. Clean rooms, covid restrictions apply, fantastic view of the canals and countryside from our bedroom, in all a wonderful break and would go again
