Solihull offers a wide choice of food providers in a condensed central area, easily reached on foot. For hearty appetites who can bear being in a sports pub, Yates is excellent, while the Italian 'Zizzy' was very good, with really helpful staff and fine food. Did not have an opportunity to try any of the dozen or so others! Solihull is easily accessed from the M42, and just one junction away from the NEC, making it the ideal place to stay for exhibitions.
Solihull Town centre was poor many shops closed and others not up to scratch. Starting to look dated, nothing to make me want to go back. Went to becketts for Sunday lunch it used to have an amazing Sunday carvery, understand with covid they can't have the carvery but the Sunday lunch served to the table was average. The veg was very good, the Yorkshire pudding was cold and chewy, only 2 very small thin slices of meat the gravy was cold and lumpy. Just not what it used to be such ashame.
It was very convenient for shops and dining etc However it lacked adequate staffing and a standard of service you would expect from this type of hotel. Quite noisy and reception and bar area very crowded due to large weekend parties
Great area with all the amenities you need, knowle is particularly nice with little boutiques and nice cafes /delis and hairdressers , the church is stunning and there are some beautiful historic buildings too
Booked a double room standard 5 days before but when arrived at the hotel they gave the room which I booked to somebody else and instead gave me a double room for disabled person and the bathroom sink was too low had to bend down and the shower was not great either. Pretty sure the whole reason you book a room in advance is so you get that and not a disabled room I arrived at the hotel at 9pm so couldn’t even do much feel like because they took the money they didn’t care and the bloke at the reception was moody however the woman I spoke to first was lovely.
We stayed here following a weekend in London. We were visiting friends in the Birmingham area and wanted a hotel that was not ott far from their home. Our visit was very brief so we did not see anything of Solihull but the next visit will be for longer as it is a really lovely area and worth exploring. The shopping was great.
The hotel premises were attractive and spacious and there was a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Staff were welcoming, professional and friendly. There was a great outdoors sitting area. Menu was interesting, food tasty and well priced. My room was comfortable, clean and well equiped
No stayed several times. And will do again. VFM budget hotel. Appears to previously been a premier inn, so similar facilities all be they a little bit tired but 25% -50% discount, plenty of free parking, location perfect for Solihull and south Birmingham.
I have stayed at this hotel many times, but this was the first time since the Covid crisis. Everything was excellent. Brilliant staff who looked after us vey well. Excellent food.
I particular liked The Gym and Spa facilities. The hotel was clean and not far from town, if you want to get to the busy part of Birmingham.
The most impressive thing about this hotel is the staff. They are incredibly friendly, helpful and a joy to deal with.
Perfect for our needs to be local to Monkspath area for family. Hotel was clean and staff were all very helpful.
