The history and the layout of the castle was amazing. The Lucy Walter room was large and luxurious as was the bathroom. The common lounge room, sunroom and castle nooks were a fabulous bonus. Not to mention the views of the coastline were stunning. As an Australian I was amazed and felt like a queen in being able to stay here.

What guests said about Solva:

The harbour is beautiful.

The harbour is beautiful. Having lunch at the Cafe on the Quay, overlooking the harbour was the highlight of our week. (We are easily pleased!) I would actually recommend parking in the community car park in Upper Solva and walking down to the quay. The view is stunning.

The walks, the views, the people in the area were absolutely lovely. I, as a lone woman felt safe, welcome, free, inspired and rested. I had lovely yoga classes in Solva and took a very informative foraging walk through the Very Wild Emporium in Saint Davids. The scenery is stunning and exhilarating. St Nons a great place for reflection again particularly as a woman.

Absolutely lovely. Kind of untouched. The locals I spoke to were really warm and friendly. The Quay Cafe is a place that I frequented a few times, given I was only in Solva for a few days. I really liked it!

Solva is an idyllic ria, historically interesting and a very beautiful place to stay in. Our family have been coming here all our lives, our father grew up in Solva, it is a gem. Beautiful beaches , walk the Gribin and the coast path. Visit Middle Mill and see the weaving of rugs and blankets.

Solva and surrounding areas are beautiful.

Solva and surrounding areas are beautiful. Solva is VERY dog friendly. Had a lovely lunch at No 35 Main Street on the quay, delicious! A walk along Newgale beach in the morning was absolutely fabulous, an absolute treat. St Davids is picturesque and full of history, wonderful to sit on a bench overlooking the Cathedral. Plenty of places to eat all charging £8 for a sandwich! Avoid Pebbles Cafe, absolutely dreadful service, steep stairs to counter to order, our cake was dry and stale and the coffees were small served in paper cups on a dirty tray!
