Hotel in Southend-on-Sea
In the center of Southend-on-Sea, The Park Inn by Radisson Palace is opposite the vibrant Southend Pier and amusement park. It has modern rooms, a lively bar and grill and an on-site gym. Location is great. Hotel is in a short walking distance from the train station, shops and restaurants. The pier is directly across the road from the hotel. One of the hotels very friendly and helpful staff/consultants named Arbab upgraded us from a city/parkade view standard room to a very large sea/pier view room on the 5th floor without additional charge. Thank you very much - we will be back.

Everywhere clean. Plenty shops. Pier great although it was winter weather so did not venture on but will come back when weather is warmer. Plenty of places to eat at reasonable prices. Will definitely come back in the summer.
We have annual membership to Adventure Island & even though it being winter the outdoor rides weren't open, our son had fun in the arcades and indoor rides which were open. It's handy getting a bit of discount even on the arcades with the membership The walk along the sea front was nice even though chilly as between Xmas and new year. We went to Rossi's famous for it's ice-cream but only the kids were brave enough for something so cold !
Booked here for the Cliffs Pavillion in December for a function. An amazing surprise. A must to go to place, esepcially for the Christmas panto. Haven't been to Southend on Sea for many years and I must say how much it has improved. Only 40 minutes by train from London Liverpool Street, making an option for either a days outing, a long weekend or longer. The Royals Shopping Center was a big plus, as were the traditional seafood and famous fish and chip shops. The South End Pier railway is a nice way to get to and from the long pier, but of course you can walk there and back if you wish. There you'll find nice cafes, restaurants and amazing views over the river. It was a very pleasant surprise, would definately go back to
Winter is not the best , although it was great .. summer or spring you would get more out of the area .. there are brilliant Italian restaurants here .. and a fantastic.. Greek … the food restaurants are brilliant.. all of them , they are booked up quickly..which speaks for the level of how good they are
Both the main theatres are very good, pubs seem to have improved (particularly micropubs) since the last visit. Weather was bad, very wet and strong winds which made proximity of hotel to theatre good but prevented us seeing more in the town or the nice walk to Old Leigh we have previously done on visits
The location was perfect. The room was very dated and needed upgrading. The windows needed replacing as you could hear the wind coming through them all night. The lift in the hotel was broken and we was on the 1st floor, not ideal for people struggling with luggage and mobility. The bathroom had a strange smell to it and there was only hand towels in the bathroom.
The hotel has a lovely 1920's vibe with boutique furnishings in the seating and bar area. The room was amazing for what we had paid for it. The value, in this case, was outstanding. We enjoyed all the room's facilities. Beautiful suite. The staff is polite and exceptional. The receptionist that day was particularly tentative to us and a great conversationalist, and also a young lady at the bar was the same. This made us feel welcomed.
Southend-on-Sea
Great apartment. Just as advertised. Staff where brilliant in the run up answering our questions and making helpful suggestions and this continued throughout our stay. It’s a compact apartment but we knew that when we booked it and it still has a kitchen and two bathrooms plus the bedrooms dining room and lounge area. Was a great location to spend time by the sea front and make trips to Leigh on Sea.
Southend-on-Sea
Everything! The Hotel was fantastic: very clean, nice decor, exceptional location overlooking the Southend Pier and Amusement Park, but best of all was Debbie, the Manager. Fantastic, kind as could be, an excellent chef who prepared my complimentary full english breakfast for me daily.
