Hotel in Stirling
Built in 1854, this hotel was once the High School of Stirling. Less than 10 minutes’ walk from the city’s historic castle, it has an AA Rosette-awarded restaurant and free parking. We only stayed for one night, on our return trip, so I had not much expectation, but it was really a nice stay. The breakfast buffet was diverse and of good quality, the room was cosy, the car park convenient, and the gym facility, despite being small, a nice addition. The staff was really professional and helpful. If you fancy dreaming in a castle, that's definitely the one to chose!

I forgot to say in my previous review that the parking facilities were abysmal. Not much space. Poor surface. Cars abandoned everywhere. I also forgot to mention that the food we had was really good and well presented. The waitress Clara was exceptional. What a delight. Breakfast was also good.
Stirling is a lovely City with a modern shopping centre and a picturesque old town. It is surrounded by stunning scenery which you expect when visiting Scotland. We traveled up on the Calodonian Sleeper Train and the train station was located right in the City Centre with excellent rail links to all other major Cities in Scotland as well as London Euston. We found plenty to do in Stirling itself and visited the Castle and the Old Jail House which also has 2 escape rooms. We found eating out in Stirling a bit cheaper than Edinburgh with tons of choices. As Stirling has a university, bars are also plentiful. All in all I would recommend Stirling as an excellent base for exploring Scotland
We were visiting for an evening show of A Christmas Carol held in the great hall of Stirling Castle. We were hoping to experience move of the city but it was a very snowy and icy weekend so instead enjoyed the hotel before and after the show. We had a beautiful view of Wallace Monument from our room. Looking forward to booking this hotel again in fairer weather to explore more of the city.
Stirling offers lots of tourist venues , castle, monument,or amenities, swimming pool, cinema skating rink, keep fit all within reasonable walking distance . Central bus station puts other venues such as Falkirk Wheel,Kelpies, within easy reach. Train station easily widens opportunities.
I have stayed at this hotel 3 or 4 times before and it has definately gone down hill. Our room and in particular the bathroom was filthy and full of mould which could have been cleaned with mould remover. In our 3 day stay the cleaner never cleaned the bathroom sink or bath and barely touched the bathroom at all. The food was also not as good as it had been previously.
We had all visited the usual tourist attractions, the castle, Safari Park etc so we were looking to experience different aspects of the city and surrounding area and we weren’t disappointed..The apartment was in a great location with short walk to bus stop and train station. Three minutes on the train took us to Bridge of Allan, eight minutes to beautiful Dunblane. Great selection of restaurants and carry-out options nearby.
Great hotel centrally located in Stirling, with restaurants, the castle, shops etc a 2 to 5 minute walk away, and only a 5 to 10 minute walk to the train station. The building is a large old historical hotel on the hill with views across the city and across to the Wallace monument, and the facilities are very good be it the restaurant, bar, or health centre (pool, gym, spa etc). Our room was lovely, lots of space, big comfy bed, good shower, great value for money. Breakfast was fab. We will definitely stay again when we return to Stirling.
Stirling
This comfortable, clean and spacious cottage is ideally situated for exploring the Stirling and surrounding area. Special mention should be given to the extremely comfortable beds. The cottage is located within the grounds of the King Robert Hotel and we chose to eat breakfast and dinner in the restaurant. The choice and quality of food was excellent and the service first class. Every member of staff from the receptionist to the bar/restaurant/maintenance staff was very welcoming, friendly and helpful.
Stirling
located around 5 minutes walk from the centre of Stirling Good car park with spaces Excellent food Nice room - bigger than average and a proper chair to sit on and the TV at a low level rather than high up near the ceiling which you find in a lot of hotel rooms. Everywhere was clean and felt Covid safe. easy to find staff helpful especially when there was a leak in the room caused by heavy overnight rain !
The hotel is very convenient to the train and bus stations. I cannot say enough good things about the staff, they were all very polite and helpful. The hotel is also a restaurant and bar which was nice, and the food is very good! The room was great, with a very comfortable bed and a big bathtub that you can soak in after trekking all day around Stirling.
Stirling
Kevin & Kim were excellent hosts. This B&B was very clean and a very good and diverse breakfast was offered. Bathrooms are very modern. In the context of small town Stirling, the location is a little remote. However that is offset by the beautiful pastoral setting and a very good pub/restaurant that is a short walk down the street.
Stirling
Very comfortable, cosy house. Every need catered for. Lovely garden. Extremely comfy beds. Good location within easy reach of Stirling city centre and places of interest. Lots of booklets etc provided on Scotland and a comprehensive guide to Stirling and the accomodation rules. Welcome basket with breakfast essentials a really lovely touch.
Near the top of the hill from city centre to the castle. An easy walk down and a regular bus from tha stop outside the Golden Lion Hotel to the stop almost opposite the apartment. Several very good restaurants within walking distance. The apartment was very well equipped with modern fittings. It was comfortable and peaceful.
Golden Lion Hotel is well sitted in the old Stirling, not far away form the castle and we particularely enjoyed this location. The room was fine (we liked the large bathtub in the bathroom) and the restaurant very pleasant (the staff as well).
Beautiful apartment in a quiet neighborhood. You could see the Stirling Castle from the living room window. I loved one could stream Netflix, Amazon and Youtube at night! Loved the city of Stirling, would liked to have stated longer!

The central yet private and quiet location The comfort and quality of the furniture The quality of kitchen appliances/utensils etc. The beds were especially comfy Easy access to castle, countryside and Stirling city centre.
Stirling
We loved our big family room with its cozy vibes, big windows, and en suite bathroom. The location was amazing for exploring Stirling on foot and it was near a beautiful church and lots of coffee and food options.
We visited the hotel for a small birthday celebration and the staff went above and beyond to make sure the everything went well. The hotel and restaurant provided a lovely setting, close to the centre of Stirling.
The lets are on farmland on the outskirts of Stirling . Really peaceful area with bus stop 1 minutes walk away to take you into Stirling City Centre. (5 min ride). Very friendly staff. Highly recommended.
