We only had time to walk around the canal before leaving, but saw so many pubs we would have visited if we had longer. We were lucky to have arrived on Sunday and got to see the market. The walk alone was beautiful, but next time we'll hire a row boat too.AAnonymous - Scored 1010

Just outside the tourist season there was still a vibrant...
Just outside the tourist season there was still a vibrant sunday street market with lots of good food. I would avoid it at peak times but when we went it wasn't crowded and even late on Sunday we could just walk into a restaurant and get a table and also go on a boat trip. It is a lovely place and of course the Theatre is world-beating. But avoid the crowds if you can.

Stratford is in a nice setting and the parkland by the river is great. The staff in the catering facilities at the Theatre were a bit offhand, and the town itself is looking a bit tired. Sadly Shakespeare's birthplace is now hidden by a modern monstrosity of a visitor centre. We love going to the theatre and were lucky to enjoy three plays during our stay. The performances were fantastic and lived up to our expectations. We also loved our behind the scenes tour of the theatre. As well as Shakespeare, we loved our trip to the Butterfly Farm, well worth a visit to walk amongst beautiful butterflies and see some amazing creatures.AAnonymous
