The Royal Arms is convenient for Leicester, Coventry, Derby, East Midlands Airport and Nottingham, by car. Close to the hotel is the historic Bosworth Battlefield, where Richard 111 lost his life, to Henry Tudor . Also 4 miles away is Tropical Birdland in Desford, which is worth a visit with young children.
This village is really lovely with plenty of nice walks and stunning locations. Lots of good food places of any kind. Plenty for tourists to go out and see. Ideal location for work related stay as central to motorway networks.
Lovely spot very small however a very historical part of the UK. I believe King Richard spent the evening before the battle of bosworth in 1485 in the local church. The battlefield centre is located just outside of the village and is well worth a visit.
My stay at the hotel was badly affected by the Family Room we stayed in, but the location is excellent for visiting Leicester, Bosworth Battlefield and other nearby attractions. The hotel is very close to the M69/A5 therefore no need to use the M1
On arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately the room was very small and in real need of a refurb along with the bathroom. The mattress was rock hard and the room very noisy. We were able to hear the people talking in the next room word for word and also the people waiting for taxis late at night, My breakfast had a beetle in it but the staff were very apologetic and did not charge us!!! I'm glad we got the room at a discounted rate of £50 because any more than this would have just not been value for money. All in all very disappointing from a venue we had heard good reports about.
Sutton Cheney is a quaint little village set away from the hustle of the city. Turn off your mobile phones and enjoy the peace and quiet here. My children love nature and the outdoors so they were ecstatic to be close to farm animals, exotic birds etc
