Lovely little hotel and great for a short stop off. Cozy little room, very comfortable and quiet - had a wonderful night's sleep. Hotel managers were incredibly friendly and welcoming and really went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Evening meal was very tasty with huge portions and the breakfast was great as well.

Charming small hotel & pub in a lovely small town on the Tweed River. The building is 400 yrs. old . Very cozy and inviting atmosphere. Dinner was good as well as the breakfast. Bathroom was small but had a nice updated shower.

We stayed at Wheatsheaf Hotel, and it was superb. Swinton is a very small, remote village in the Scottish borders. It appears on this, our first visit, to be sleepy and have little to do, but this was in January so it is probably not a true reflection. There are, however, a number of bigger towns within a reasonably short drive. so a car is essential to get about.

The location of the hotel was perfect for an overnight stop on a long journey. The room was charming with double aspect windows and a view over the green. The furnishings were comfortable and the room had everything you needed for a peaceful night. The hotel was spotlessly clean and tidy and very well presented.
We ate dinner in the hotel, as well as breakfast, and the food was first rate.
We would definitely recommend this hotel .
Beautiful location, garden was lovely. House was an amazing warren of interesting rooms for the kids to explore. Lots of sofas for lounging about in the evening. The kitchen was big enough to cook big dinners for everyone and sit down at the big kitchen table to eat. Lovely views from all the windows. Nice little pub just along the road in Swinton with a beer garden.
Hotel was very clean , the staff were very friendly and the food was excellent . The Dining room is lovely presented and very comfortable .
Special mention to Georgia a lovely girl who carried our bags up to our room .
very good location to get around the Scottish Borders. pretty spot in front of the green.
