This bay-fronted Victorian property is located in Thetford town center. Just off the main A11 road to Norwich, Wereham House offers full cooked breakfasts and free fiber optic broadband. Never have I had such good lighting in the bathroom. I could finally see to put on my makeup and that’s important to a woman! Breakfast was made to order, hot and delicious and great value for the cost. Room was so quiet and the bed made it hard for me to want to get up in the morning because it was so comfortable. I felt safe, too. Location was perfect. Hosts were so thoughtful and eager to ensure all was well. Thank you.
Grange Farm offers accommodations in Euston, just 3 miles from Thetford. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. A beautiful house with the 2 most lovely people you would ever like as hosts, lovely meals, very quiet location, needs more on suites but other than that A1
Set within the heart of Thetford town center, 12 St Giles offers a two bedroom house in Thetford, featuring a number of amenities including a garden covered in shingles and is only a 1 minute walk... The property location was fantastic - very central to Thetford & there was free parking for the car right next door to the property. The beds were extremely comfortable & there was TV’s in each room. Although the bathroom & kitchen were quite small they had everything that you could possibly need for your stay including a dishwasher & washing machine/dryer. Loved the Netflix!
Set in Thetford, 5.6 mi from Thetford Castle Hill, The Mill offers accommodations with free WiFi, a shared lounge and barbecue facilities. The breakfast was a Continental breakfast with a lovely home made bread delivered daily by Piers. Home made Jams and a variety of cereals, the eggs are available in the chicken. The host was wonderful, could not have done more to accommodate his guests. Myself and another couple were taught by Piers how to replace a flat tyre. The rooms are lovely, the lounge & kitchen are fully equipped. Lovely gardens & natural pool. (Regret not taking a picture).
Located in Thetford in the Norfolk region, with Thetford Castle Hill nearby, The Alms House features accommodations with free WiFi. Beautifully presented, sun in the garden, just enough space for two, pub over the road, central for visiting Norfolk/Suffolk
Stunning listed Georgian house in Thetford is located in Thetford, 1969 feet from Thetford Castle Hill, and features a patio, garden, and free WiFi. Location excellent ,the property i would describe as perfect beautifully decorated with very high quality fittings the photos do not do it justice .On arrival the host had thoughtfully provided a little milk along with tea and coffee bedrooms well fitted , first class bath room with toiletries, Lounge adequate for four with flat screen tv ,we had small problem firing it up our fault dining room could seat four + with comfort .small patio garden with just about everything one could wish for All in all a real find .
the river is nice and the shops ok but basic. there is a lot of litter and the locals are quite noisy they like walking around the streets playing music at full blast. priory is nice to walk around but was closed when i was there thetford has a lovely garden tgucked off the high street, there is a small sign for no dogs but just ignore this
It is very small town with nothing to do. All museums were closed due Covid. There is no bowling or such as activities so we ended up drinking in the pub and then watching TV in our room on a very rainy day. The selection of restaurants in the town is poor only English pubs, Indian and Chinese + some fast food. Town has all basic shops e.g. Tesco express, Willco or boots. Only 15 minutes from Thetford forest.
Thetford is a lovely town. It is an ideal base for exploring Norfolk and Suffolk. Thetford Priory is lovely if you like a bit of history. Thetford Forest is great if you like the big outdoors. We went on segway's in the forest for the first time.
Interesting walks by the river. Castle mound good to climb up with great views. Discovered king's house pretty garden nearby. Plenty of history including dad's army. Unfortunately due to the virus many indoor museums etc were closed.
A pleasant little town with enough shops etc. but was surprised by the number of rats down by the river, was of considerable concern to my wife. The Tourist Information office was very helpful and despite being a one woman operation did not stop her taking time to help us.
Historical. Flint mines mean that buildings are built of flint. Centre of East Anglia in Saxon times, an old Cluniac priory, raided in the dissolution of the monasteries and robbed out to build other houses etc. Castle ruins to walk around. No designer shops, not many places to eat out. Nice to amble around, heavy Dads Army influences but museum rarely open even pre Covid. Home of Charles Burrell of steam engine fame and Thomas Paine, 18th century equal rights advocate.
