There's a nice local feeling about Tynemouth. It has a very attractive beach front, nice shops, great restaurants and lots of good bars. We particularly enjoyed our evening at Davanti Classico Italian restaurant which is housed in an attractive building at the railway station. We also made a return visit to Lola Jeans Bar and Grill - food and ambience to be recommended. We visited Newcastle for half a day during our stay - used the regular bus service there and got the Metro back. Very easy.

An interesting place with great coastal walks, friendly people and some excellent places to eat. We particularly liked Ora - especially for breakfast! Quick links into Newcastle if you fancy some city life and reliable public transport.

Fantastic beach, quirky shops and a few nice places to eat, all easily accessible by public transport (train to Newcastle Central then Metro to Tynemouth) The Metro system also means you could stay in Tynemouth and explore Newcastle and Gateshead if there for longer. Really good place for a family holiday.

Lovely little town, lots of coastal walks. Fab beach, including cafe/shacks on the beach. Lots of nice cafes, bars and restaurants in the high street, and the weekend market which takes place in the train station is worth a visit. Something for everyone of all ages.

Tynemouth is such a lovely place .
Tynemouth is such a lovely place . Plenty of things to do out and about . Restaurants and pubs aplenty. The prior and castle is a great piece of history right in the middle of the village. Tynemouth is well worth a visit at any time of the year but come in the summer and spend some time walking along the coast you won't be disappointed.

Wonderful Victorian style seaside town.
Wonderful Victorian style seaside town. Lots of great places to eat and drink and some fantastic coastal walks along the promenade at Tynemouth and North Shields. Stuff for the history lovers too with the old fort and priory. Amazing market on the station at weekends. Looking forward to going back soon.

From $121 per nightFantastic little property, near to the town and to the coast path. Great facilities and very cosy. Only a few minutes to walk into Tynemouth where there are some gorgeous little shops, bars and restaurants. Weekend market is 5 minutes walk too and well worth a visit. My favourite was the coast path to North Shields, great little beach and some great local fish mongers too. Nice walk to the north, King Edwards Bay and onto Longsands. Lots of sights further too.
