For us it was near to family so we were able to share with them and treat them in the hotel for meals and we visited local shops etc. We enjoyed walking along the prom. and visited Seaton Sluce, Blythe & Whitley Bay. Bus services are good if you do not have own transport, Metro also good.

My first time in Tynemouth. It's a really pleasant, attractive little place, easy to walk and cycle around, fantastic beaches and sea views, and a thriving high street with posh places to eat and drink.

Tynemouth has beautiful beaches and views, with plenty of pubs with real ale and cafes. Great place to visit as day trip from Newcastle on the Metro, or as stopping off point on coastal walk/cycle.

I have visited Tynemouth on previous occasions though this was the first time i had stayed there. Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate on this occasion but from experience Tynemouth is an excellent place for a relaxing break. There are coastal walks and History in the town which is very well kept. Also there are several places of interest to visit nearby and the centre of Newcastle is a 20 minute ride on the Metro.

The bar area and staff were great and the rooms were very clean. The double beds were large and comfortable. Having an iron and hair dryer was helpful as I've noticed these are disappearing in many hotels! The view from the bar was beautiful.
