The place is great. It's fresh, well cared for and pretty well equipped. The location is first class with cafes, restaurants and local pubs just around the corner. The views along the coast across the river and of the Tynemouth Priory are simply magnificent. Parking is designated so no problems there at all.

The apartment is incredibly spacious. The location is wonderful — close to the beach, the restaurant area, and the Priory and Castle. Communication with the host was excellent. We also enjoyed having the opportunity for a movie night through the supplied Netflix. I would definitely stay here again.

I know Tynemouth having grown up there, so I knew the location. It was good. Parking has got very difficult, which isn't the hosts fault, but it is a problem for anyone staying with a car. The last question about Cullercoats Beach is very odd, given King Edwards Bay, Long Sands are closer and much more impressive.

Our first visit toTynemouth and we were pleasantly surprised by what it had to offer. It has the feel of a small resort in that all the major attractions are within walking distance and it is not overwhelmed by tourists. It is also a very convenient base for taking the ferry across the Tyne to South Shields or the Metro into central Newcastle. It also gives very easy access for visiting the many ancient Roman sites in and around Hadrian's Wall. One particular highlight was eating at Riley's Fish Shack, scenically beautiful as it is located on a quiet beach below Tynemouth Priory. The fresh sea food served there was amazing.

Excellent place to stay. Beautiful clean beaches of which some are dog friendly. Plenty of lovely restaurants and bars nearly all dog friendly especially Allards and Lola Jeans retaurants in Tynemouth village. Lots of interesting historical places to visit. You can drive along the coastal road to visit St Martins lighthouse and Whitley Bay.

Tynemouth is a really nice area to visit. the beaches are lovely and there are many places to eat however I would suggest that you head slightly out of Tynemouth toward North Shields and turn down to the quayside, the fish dishes available there are really good.

Lovely beaches. Good walks along promenade and further. Castle/priory very picturesque. Walk down to mouth of river for good views and more interesting sites to visit. Tynemouth is unspoiled by the usual arcades and food stands. Lovely places to eat and also a quiet stroll along the beach. 25 mins on the Metro to the city of Newcastle with the delights it brings. Recommended is Tynemouth Priory, a true gem. Not only the Priory itself with magnificent views but also the hidden from the road graveyard and fascinating WWII bunker and guns. Very quiet and peaceful please with stunning views. Free to enter with English Heritage Membership. Lots of historical statues and lovely places to eat and drink along the harbour.

We had a lovely stay at Peacock Hpuse - a really lovely home from home we hosted a lunch on the Saturday with friends in the wonderful well equipped kitchen at the huge kitchen table and popped over to the amazing market at Tynemouth market which was a few footsteps away. We would love to come again as apart from the fabulous standard of the accommodation, the location is perfect for proximity to Newcastle and the coast.

I recommend to stay in at The View . Its situated on the very end of Tynemouth by the sea and the channel where the ferries are sailing by . Lovely walk in to the village and good breakfast . The host Graeme is very kind and was very helpful for me on the dy as I could leave my car parked for a few more hours before I had to set off to the ferry
