Hotel in Warkworth
In the heart of the village of Warkworth, this 18th-century coaching inn offers 3-star hotel accommodations less than a mile from the Northumberland coast. Breakfast was delicious, choice of fresh fruit salad, yogourt, juices etc. Nice cooked breakfast choices particularly the kipper and the veggie sausage. The dinners were very good, nice choice and also catered to vegan and vegitarian. Nice pleasant staff, very helpful. The room staff and front desk were all delightful made us feel very welcome and right at home. Nice quiet bedroom at top of building. Parking at hotel if spaces.
Hotel in Warkworth
The Sun Hotel is set opposite Warkworth Castle, on the banks of the River Coquet. This hotel features a traditional pub housed in a 17th-century coaching inn. We opted for the King Suite and it was absolutely gorgeous. The bed was so comfy, the room was really clean and beautifully decorated. The hotel has a great character. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and very 'Covid-safe'. We ate in the bar for our evening meal - my other half had the steak of the day and said it was one of the best steaks he'd ever had! The breakfast was superb too, a really good selection on offer. Great location too - views of the castle opposite and just off the main street in Warkworth.

A beautiful property with great staff led by owner Amanda a wonderful host. The room had everything with what looked like a recent upgrade of the bathroom. Lovely village , stunning views of rive rand castle alongside riverside walk. Could do with another place to eat at night earlier in the week , probably just due to increase in vistior numbers this year compared with previous.
We had previously stayed in Warkworth but not had time to explore locally so spent 3 nights here on our retun home from furhter North. Can be very busy and parking difficult but super places to eat. Castle worth a visit and lovely walks by the River and to the Hermitage. Long sandy beach towards Amble.
Hilly, pretty village, lovely river walks, great coffee shop in the village, pretty church and some shops I liked. I needed to drive from The Sun to the village center as the hills would have been too great a challenge to my breathing!!, But saw many walkers, everywhere I went. I did not visit Warkworth Castle
Super village with free parking if you're lucky. Super restaurants and hotels. Grand castle (English Heritage) but you need to book a time slot now. Close to other super locations. E.g. Barter Books at Alnwick. Good jumping off point for Farne Islands, Bamburgh, Lindisfarne. Bit hairy to find without a satnav!
Warkworth is an attractive town with interesting architecture as well as the castle. The river is a major feature with the River Coquet circling the town - we would go back and do more walking another time. There are a few shops ideal for gifts we visited The Greenhouse which had a good selection of items. We enjoyed the post office with its extensive range of jams and chutneys which we bought for gifts. We had no luck with eating out which was due to Covid and ended up a few miles away at the Cook and Barker which was wonderful and we had a delicious meal there.
The perfect English village. Lovely locals and plenty to see and do along the Northumbrian coast. Ate at the Sun Hotel and Topsy Turvey which were both fantastic. We didn’t have long enough time to sample all the eateries. The village is a bit hilly but a slow amble around is adequate for any fitness level. The castle is located opposite the Sun Hotel.

Warkworth
I've stayed in many many hotels, but this is definitely one of my favorites... The staff are so nice, the building is so beautiful... The room is amazing... Everything is so clean... The breakfast, oh my good, what a delicious breakfast... Honestly, one of the best hotel I ever been...
Great hotel with good vibes. Friendly, helpful staff. Great food. Lovely CLEAN room. Has the regular tea/coffee sundries but with bottled water and biscuits, nice touch. Warkworth is a lovely village and is a great central location to Northumbria delights. We will definitely return!!
The location was great as we looked over the Warkworth high street from our window. The staff at the hotel were really friendly and a system for Covid was in place. The hotel is a proper pub with good beer and full of locals.
Wonderful location, with Warkworth within 10 minutes walk by the River Coquet. Very clean and comfortable apartment with all the facilities you need. Loved the little extras (home baked scones). Thanks you!
