We had a fantastic holiday and enjoyed all the lovely details within the lodge, everything was decorated with so much love and it is a beautiful place to relax and enjoy fantastic views. Bryn and his sweet dogs gave us a warm welcome. We highly recommend the lodge and are happy to be coming back to this wonderful place soon. The lodge was perfect for our dog as well, everything is fenced and dog proof, so not only a wonderful place for people, but also for dogs :)

Spacious room (almost an entire wing of the building for your own!). Outstanding manor house within a large park. Nice welcome, breakfast served to the room! One of the most outstanding stays we had on the entire Wales roundtrip. The next pub/dining option is a 25 min walk through the park. Perfect. Although sections of the house are under construction everything was perfect and maybe because of this the price is absolutely affordable......

This cosy cottage with panoramic views over the Welsh and English countryside is idyllic . The facilities are more than adequate and the goodies in the fridge as a welcome gift were delicious. The proprietor is friendly and engaging and very willing to please. We loved every aspect of our stay.

An ok town, shame as bit of a reflection of the current state of affairs in most British towns these days. Was once I’m sure a bustling and thriving market town. Very handy for walking to the brilliant Powis castle and the local steam train railway too. A few bars and restaurants also.

Welshpool is a quaint village.

Welshpool is a quaint village. It is not far from Shrewsbury which is a bit bigger and equally charming. Our favourite site was the the Shropshire Sculpture Park - you could easily spend a day walking around the park looking at hundreds of individual sculptures.

I know Welshpool very well, our daughter has lived there for 25yrs. A place came as a lovely surprise our daughter tookus for the day to Portmeirion. The lovely sunny day made ir just a day to remember. I remember The Corn store being nice to eat. We have eaten often in The Royal Oak always enjoyed it there. Charlie's is a nice place to look around very large garden centre with a nice eating place.

We are both fairly familiar with the area, so did not in fact go to Welshpool this time. But it's an interesting little town, check what is the current market day - it used to be very interesting on Tuesdays but may have changed. The area has many interesting features with nice walks , Powys castle and the Edinburgh woollen mill. The comments below relate to the area not just the town. Welshpool itself is really only a few streets so its easy to get round.

We loved the cottage! It was comfortable, well equipped and close to local amenities. We are from the area and so used the cottage as a base from which to visit and to be visited by family and close friends. The host, Jackie, was absolutely lovely, gave the warmest of welcomes, thank you Jackie. Nothing was too much trouble, if there were any problems we were to let her know. We had no problems, we just had a fabulous time. Both Welshpool and Oswestry are both a short drive away, had a fabulous breakfast in Oswestry (Gilliam’s).

A great quiet location, ideal for walking and yet close enough to walk into Welshpool through lovely countryside. The apartment was well furnished in character with the building but also comfortable. There was fresh milk for tea in the fridge rather than UHT that you find in many places which was also good
