Hotel in Welwyn
With free Wi-Fi and free parking on site, The Wellington offers a popular restaurant with award-winning food, a large terrace, and unique rooms with antique furniture. We couldn't recommend the Wellington enough. Everything from the warm welcome on arrival to the beautiful rooms, outstanding food and the friendliest team you could wish for made this such a special stay. The very tasteful festive decorations only added to the sense of occasion, and the only disappointment was having to leave after 2 fabulous days!! We left with so many wonderful memories however, and felt as if we'd eaten like a King & Queen. The location in the heart of the village is picture postcard perfect, and everyone we met in and around the village was also incredibly friendly which only added to a really memorable break, and this is somewhere we couldn't recommend highly enough if you're looking to escape and switch off from everything. Having breakfast included in the room prices is incredibly good value, even more so when you sample the wonderful food!

Welwyn
A charming 17th-century coaching inn, The White Hart Hotel offers luxury accommodations, with good access to the A1(M) and a 20-minute train or car journey from London. An old stagecoach post on the old road from London to Edinbrough, the place is full of charm, but the rooms are modern and comfortable. The staff was great, and the food downstairs really good.

Steeped in history, the Wellington has clearly been lovingly restored over the centuries and has become the perfect fusion of old and new. Set in the beautiful village of Welwyn, I'd recommend coming here just for a walk around and to eat at the Wellington, however if you get a chance to stay you really should - it's just the most fantastic experience. The warmth of the team shines through, and they couldn't do enough for us to make us feel really welcome and special, and we left talking about when we'd next be coming back - it was that good!!
Everything was amazing, price, food, staff, drinks and location. They couldn't have done anymore for us unless they carried me from the car to my room. We'll definitely be coming back your food and services was exceptional A1+++ Thank you for an amazing experience!!
Just as we remembered it - a few small changes with shops etc but the essence /history of the village is still there and still lovely. Good dinner in The White Hart and good lunch in The Wellington
Welwyn is a beautiful friendly village, the people are very welcoming, the pubs are amazing and the food is excellent. It's great to have a nice steady walk around the village , it has some lovely olde worlde houses and lovely little cottages. The church is a major feature in the village, it is a must to visit. The river runs through the village and you can sit and watch the day go by at the rivers edge and watch the duck paddle by.
Lovely little place, some nice pubs/eateries. Pretty stream running through and church pretty too. The Cat Survival Trust is really worth looking into, they do some great work. Ate at The Wellington, it was spot on.
It's very easy to get to London from the hotel . You can order a taxi down at the reception and ask them to take you to Welwyn Garden City Train Station then book your ticket to Kings Cross and it only takes 26 minutes (To purchase your tickets go up with the escalator till you see the tickets window) To make your trip memorable I would highly recommend you have a look around Welwyn as as it is absolutely stunning ,the pubs the restaurants and the beautiful countryside and the people are very friendly. A perfect place to spend with your other half
