Lovely deck for barbecuing and enjoying the glorious scenery. Barry the host could not have been more friendly and helpful.

the room was clean, the beds comfortable and the staff helpful but the room was so hot it ruined our 3 day stay and we left a day early and were very disappointed as we were looking forward to this holiday very much. We could not obtain any compensation at all. The wifi was also very poor indeed and the staff explained this was normal.
Interesting history, quaint village, great food at The Grasshopper on the Green. Very friendly. Hever Castle near by, Churchill House, Sevenoakes and not far from coastal points such as the historic Hastings.
Stayed at Westerham as it's close to National Trust property Chartwell and convenient for the M25. There are interesting shops and quite a few eateries but some closed on Monday or for refurbishment. Check before going. Can recommend Tulsi Indian restaurant.
The state of the Days Inn grounds did not bode favourable for the first impression of Westerham. The Council need to have words with them about the general upkeep and monitoring of the area outside the reception/parking areas of the facility. Westerham is a beautiful part of Kent I know the area well as I have grown up in the area. But if hotels\motels are not kept to certain standards this will have adverse effect on the whole area.
General impression was of a potentially lovely town spoilt by premise that were empty or in general need of improvement. The town seemed in need of good hotels, restaurants and nice shops. There is a nice Italian restaurant and shop. There is plenty to enjoy in the vicinity, eg. Darwin's and Churchill's houses, and the Biggin Hill wartime museum and aerial activity.
The village has a beautiful statue of General Wolfe who was born here. At the bottom of the town is his home Quebec House, which is owned by the National Trust. The village has several restaurants and independent shops. Not far away is the lovely Hever Castle and Chartwell, the home of Winston Churchill.
Westerham
Great Lodge to stay in. Owner, Barry was very friendly and very helpful. Comfortable beds. Lovely lounge. Smart kitchen. Lots of really nice pubs for lunch close by. Westerham was pretty with some interesting shops. We liked Oxted too. We had a wonderful relaxing week - just what we both needed.
Westerham
Hotel had a relaxed feel to it. Comfy bed but do make sure you are placed in a room at the back otherwise you will hear traffic. I was at the back and was fine. Some friends that arrived later than me stayed in a front room and could hear traffic.
Westerham
Breakfast was good and tasty, staff friendly and the carpet like velvet! Is well located for Westerham and the surrounding areas. Slept well, liked having a super king! I would rate it good (very good if not for the below).
Convenient stop on the way from Dorset to Kent on the day before Storm Eunice was due.
