We stayed in a garden room as we were travelling with our dog. Room was large and comfortable and the en-suite was excellent. The young lady who booked us in was very helpful. Wickham is a very nice area with plenty of places to eat in the evening.
Wickham is a lovely market town surrounded by gorgeous countryside but has very easy access to Portsmouth and Southampton. There is plenty of parking in the main square and it is very cheap. It has some lovely pubs - especially Greens, which has a secret garden and a gate with easy access to the River Meon. There is a lovely walk along a disused railway line which is now a bridle way. A must, when you go to Wickham is a visit to Chesapeake Mill. It is an old water mill which is now filled with antiques and collectibles and some gorgeous gifts and furniture. You could spend hours on there having a rummage.
It is a lovely peaceful place, but has quite a few shops and restaurants. Nearby is the lovely 100 acres, great for walking, cycling and picnics. It is also well places for the larger towns like Fareham and Portsmouth for shopping.
Pleasant town with welcoming people. Has a large square suitable for parking (pay and display). Good restaurants and coffee shops, plus specialist sweet shop and excellent butcher. Pastoral Centre close by run by an order of nuns that offers retreats and accommodation for those who want peaceful reflection.
The b&b and staff are great. Wickham has everything you need for a good short break with Hedge End a short drive away for a bit of retail therapy. We ate and drank so well all weekend we're now on a diet but planning a repeat stay.
The hotel cannot be faulted as a destination with the location being excellent with plenty of eatery about. The rooms were spotless however the large double bed was tiny and I found it odd to have the hotels supplies cupboard in our suite and open ( good thing I am not a thief) Our greeting at the hotel was warm and friendly and to be honest the breakfast was simply awesome Would I go again ?? yes I believe I would
