Have stayed in self catering cottages in Winchcombe before many years ago. We first looked at these this trip but found they did not offer such good value for money for a couple as the Lion Inn. It's a lovely little town in the middle of the Cotswolds great as a centre for visiting the various villages and for walking.
Small town full of history with Sudeley castle on the edge of the town. The castle has wonderfully grounds. There are lots of walks including the Cotswold Way. Plenty of shops and restaurants surrounded by rolling hills. Lovely part of the world.
A small, attractive, characterful town, with an enviable selection of accommodation and eateries - well-placed to explore the Cotswolds and Cheltenham in and out of season. Our visit was in a very wet January, when many attractions were closed.
Amazing views and walks. Quite and miles away from the rat race. Lots to see and do, nice independent shops, pubs and restaurants. Serving locally produced goods. And is a fairtrade town.bloody chains which is a bonus. Nice historic sites.
Beautiful city with a beautiful catle. It's not one of the most typical cities in the Cotswolds but it's 20 min away from everything so it's fine. Make sure you visit the caste, specially if you ever kids - amazing playground!
It is a quiet Cotswold village, we visited Sudeley Castle for an event which we loved. Also visited we visited Hailes Church and Hailes Abbey, both worth a visit. Lots of Antique shops if you like that sort of thing, lots of history in the area.
