The traffic was a nightmare, all the time we were there was continual queues and road works. We will not be rushing back to wisbech. We were glad it was a very short planned trip, we hated the place.
Beautiful Georgian houses and attractive park. Most amenities are within easy walking distance. The market square was great on Saturday morning with some interesting stalls. If you like charity shops and antique shops there are lots to browse. Some good museums too - but you need to book in advance, due to Covid.
It has a 'village' feel about . It almost felt like I had gone out of uk. Most of the restaurants did not sell the typical British food so there is a variety of food to buy and very tasty too. Don't look in the town centre for the typical Mac, KFC, burger king. They are only 1 to 2 miles away though. The town centre is small and can cater to any basic need. There is a lovely garden in the Church grounds with loads of seat and many people went there. people were friendly and approachable. I was only there 3 days but already felt like a local and I made friends with the locals. It feel like the sort of place where you'll know almost everyone within a short time ( this may be because am the outgoing type)
I would like to say that it was a pleasure but, It was a very unpleasant experience, gangs of youths and men scattered around the market place and the gardens by wheatherspoons . Never heard a local accent until we went into the pub ,which had local staff Another market town ruined by immigrant population
Lived here for 6 years and it only gotten worst. Kids hanging around has been replaced by non english speaking eastern Europeans. Surprisingly some shops open about 20years ago are still around today. The town is slightly better for shops than surrounding villages but be expected a not so warm welcome by locals
I loved the architecture and the variety of buildings, particularly by the river and around the church. The town was much more picturesque and historic than I expected. I visited in autumn but would love to go back in spring or summer.
Wisbech
The lodge is lovely it’s well equipped with everything you need for your stay. The master bedroom is en-suite which was great for a family of 4. Would definitely recommend as the site itself is lovely with swimming for the kids and nature trails. Everything else is pretty good distance wise we went to Hunstanton for the day, Wisbech and kings Lynn.

Lovely stay at Willow Barn. I could not have been made to feel more welcome or comfortable. Nothing is too much trouble for their guests. Beautiful property, the hosts are so welcoming it was more like staying with friends than an impersonal hotel. Also very dog friendly and fantastic Full English Breakfast.
