Plenty of really great walks nearby.
Plenty of really great walks nearby. However, getting an evening meal didn't happen. Tarr Farm Inn didn't have the staff to serve a meal. The open all day Royal Oak stopped serving food at 8 pm in the evenings.

Very friendly post office which sold everything we wanted.
Very friendly post office which sold everything we wanted. We ate breakfast and supper at the pub, which was good food in a friendly atmosphere. We explored Exmoor and had lunch 1) in the Doone Valley, 2) at Porlock Weir. Both interesting and beautiful places.

We loved the house, very spacious, perfect for a large group...
We loved the house, very spacious, perfect for a large group of family or friends. We stayed there in February so cold and wet outside but we were very comfortable and warm, with good central heating and a log burner. The house is in the village of Withypool, on the edge of Exmoor, with a pub, shop and tea rooms.
Check in was easy and Anita & Tony were great hosts.
