Set in a 17th-century coaching inn, the Trevor Arms is located in the countryside village of Marford, North Wales. It offers spacious rooms and an elegant restaurant serving home-cooked food. The area around Trevor Arms is fascinating, with the houses having ‘eyes’ and crosses, like the pub itself. The rooms are down the back behind the pub, and you have plenty of parking there too, we felt secure that our car was close by. The room was great for our needs, and it had heating. The price was unbelievable, the rooms very clean. We had Beef and ale pie off the menu, with fresh greens and chips, highly recommended!

Caernarfon castle was great, but they need a notice to clearly state those not fit for climbing or disabled may struggle to access up to 70% of the experience (a castle with steep stairs and virtually no climbing rails). Sensory garden at the Nature reserve was outstanding
Plenty of pubs and restaurants in area of Wynnstay Arms who also provided food if required. Ate evening meal at Wetherspoons and breakfast at Lloyds Wetherspoons which was next door to Wynnstay Arms. Only used Wrexham as a stopover for picking up a narrowboat at Whixhall which was 30 minute away. Also visited Erdigg Hall which was only 10 minutes away.
I planned a 2 week trip around Wales and knew Wrexham was a must as I'd never been there before. When planning The Trip, I made sure my time in Wrexham would be spent over a weekend, but in all honesty, I could easily have added another day! Brilliant City, Brilliant People,
We were on our why to Wales so didnt stay long. Visited Waterworld and Croccy Trail. Waterworld is pool access, one flume style slide and a small lazy river but great for an hour. Croccy Trails is muddy but brilliant fun!
Couldn't sleep at all because, the bathroom noise was very loud, we could hear people using the toilet flush, and the buzzing noise, the light in my kids room just went off, the kids got scared and run in to our room, when taking a shower in the morning the shower went off and then after a few minutes later it came back on
Wrexham is a terrible run down town!! It's full of young hooligans in groups wandering round the town. They were outside our bedroom window at 3am in the morning on skateboards. There was an armed seige in the area while we were there. Talking to people that lived in Llangollen which is only 12miles away(lovely place) they said they never go there, it has such a bad name. They said about the Wynnstay Arms, it used to be the best hotel in Wrexham, but now it must be one of the worst.
My partner and I absolutely loved our stay and would definitely be returning. The caravan we rented stunning, well decorated and clean, everything we wanted for weekend getaway. We absolutely loved the cute little bbq area, and certainly made use of that. Location stunning waking up next to that pond, listening to the water fountain and watching the ducks. Loved it. I would highly recommend here as a place to stay excellent value for money, just wished we booked for longer.
Location and public areas were lovely and very friendly staff. The the room was a little small, the hot water was extremely hot so if a child or independent child washed hands or showered they would burn them selves as I did.And there was no air conditioning so was quite uncomfortable at times whilst showering and getting ready etc The bar closed at 11pm whereas other hotels will let you buy n take drinks to your room at any time so that was a bit let down.
We loved the old style buildings, the friendliness of staff. The evening meal was great, breakfast a bit limited, but the cooked breakfast was good - it filled our Grandson, who is difficult to fill! Our dog Tilly was made very welcome, there was good area at the back of the hotel where we could give her a run after a long car journey.
Wrexham
The area was quite calm, no cars.and a real dip into the countryside. The Cottage was functional, great value for money and has most facilities you could need. The heating works well, and the shower was fantastic. The hosts go out of their way, to ensure you stay is perfect. They proved themselves very helpful and approachable.
Rooms were clean, spacious and beds were nice and comfortable. The breakfast buffet offering was pretty decent, they had most of the regular items one would expect, cereals, yogurts, cold meats, hot buffet items. Hotel is within easy access to the motorway which was useful for our visits to various sights.
