The Mount Royale Hotel offers 24 bedrooms all with wireless internet, there is also a bar with a coal fire and a restaurant offering locally sourced produce. The hotel is a family run hotel , with excellent customer service, all the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent with a very good choice for breakfast. The room we had was very comfortable but slightly to hot. There was plenty of room and the bed was so comfortable. There was a fridge in the room also an iron and a board, a fan, heater, hairdryer and much more. Very good value for money, highly recommend. It is also idealy suited to walk into the town. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Spa.

The Minster Hotel offers cooked breakfasts, free WiFi and elegant rooms. It was clean, well located, and the breakfast was amazing. All staff were friendly and helpful. I felt safe at all times. There were social distancing measures in place and hand sanitizer across the hallways. Payment and requests were handled remotely to minimise risks of infection. The 5-star Grand Hotel & Spa offers stylish rooms and a luxury vaulted spa. The location of this hotel is brilliant. Few minutes walk from the rail station (I just walked with my bag), yet just a short walk to York center. The stairs onto the famous York walls (at least one of the sections) are just across the road. The building is charming, both from the outside and from the inside. I loved every single bit of it. There is an elevator but the stairs are so beautiful that I preferred to climb them every time. I booked Executive room and it was absolutely amazing. The room was very spacious ,with large windows. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was large and very well planed. It seems that a lot of thought was put in the design, taking into account the little things: places to put things, lighting options (including closet light), various products (including mouth wash), two types of curtains on bathroom window and so on. This was one of the most comfortable rooms I ever stayed in. The staff was warm and welcoming, especially the gentlemen at the door and the cleaning team.

You could walk anywhere in York within 20 minutes.

Such a wonderful historical town! You can walk almost everywhere by foot and it is worth it because you'll explore the cutest small streets and lanes. Great food and I felt like all the locals were super nice and helpful.
I love York. It's a beautiful destination all citizens are very kind! We recommend going to York dungeon! It's definitely worth for the price. I didn't like overpriced entry fare to some places. The railway museum is free and worth to visit!restaurants like cafe rouge,Bella italia- very nice food and with downloading a voucher also cheap.
Beautiful historical centre and yet a lively place friendly to families. Besides the most popular sights, I recommend the Railway Museum near the railway station, it's free but not many tourists go there as it's not in the historical centre. It's worth a visit!
Město York je velmi příjemné, historické centrum včetně katedrály lze snadno projít pěšky. Denně se zde koná malý trh, v místních hospůdkách není výjimkou živá hudba. Cítili jsme se zde dobře a rádi se vrátíme
Jde o velmi prijemne mesto, ve kterem se muzete prochazet a predstavovat si jak se stavelo. Doporucuji zavirat do okolnich ulic u hlavni katedraly a nakouknout jednotlive male stare obchudky, ktere jsou v jeste starsich budovach. Uplne nejlepsi je prodejce vanocnich ozdob…

The hotel is an hidden gem only 15 minutes walk from the centre of York. The interiors are unbelievable. The hall, the bar and the dining room with the allure of an old and magnificent Manor and the rooms with a quirky yet modern design. The room was clean and of the right size for a one night stay (would have easily have stayed there a couple of nights tho) and it had everything you could ask for. I highly recommend having breakfast in their dining room as it's one of the best breakfasts I've ever had on UK soil. The hot breakfast choices (from full English to avocado on toast) are beautifully cooked and the buffet provided you with everything you may want for your continental breakfast including a selection of lovely pastries, cereals and yoghurts and several choices of juices. Mark, one of our waiters in the brekkie room, was an absolute sweetheart and after my other half commented that the hash browns were so good he could have had one more, he went out of his way to make sure another one arrived at our table before we left to check out. Outstanding service through and through and we would definitely be back here on our next visit to York!

Hosts were fantastic and the room itself couldn't have been better with beautiful facilities, fantastically stocked and clean. We had a fantastic stay in the most perfect picturesque location with something to do at every turn.

Nice cosy rooms ,with the heat of late ,it was a lovely bonus to have a fan in the room , we definitely needed it . Friendly staff ,clean rooms ,was all you needed to be a comfortable ,enjoyable stay .
