The Mount Royale Hotel offers 24 bedrooms all with wireless internet, there is also a bar with a coal fire and a restaurant offering locally sourced produce. The hotel is a family run hotel , with excellent customer service, all the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent with a very good choice for breakfast. The room we had was very comfortable but slightly to hot. There was plenty of room and the bed was so comfortable. There was a fridge in the room also an iron and a board, a fan, heater, hairdryer and much more. Very good value for money, highly recommend. It is also idealy suited to walk into the town. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the Spa.

Dating back to the 1750s and overlooking the 11th-century church of St Olafs and the remains of St Mary’s Abbey, Jorvik Hotel has a 24-hour front desk and a bar. comfortable large room, helpful customer service, location in the heart of the city, everything was a super experience. I would recommend to you.

The Minster Hotel offers cooked breakfasts, free WiFi and elegant rooms. It was clean, well located, and the breakfast was amazing. All staff were friendly and helpful. I felt safe at all times. There were social distancing measures in place and hand sanitizer across the hallways. Payment and requests were handled remotely to minimise risks of infection. I recommend this hotel to everyone visiting York.

Opposite York Minster, and less than 200 metres from York city centre, is the Dean Court Hotel Best Western Premier Collection. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. The location right beside the Minster was fabulous. You couldn’t get better. The staff were so lovely and accommodating. The meals were beautiful. I can’t recommend enough!

The 5-star Grand Hotel & Spa offers stylish rooms and a luxury vaulted spa. The location of this hotel is brilliant. Few minutes walk from the rail station (I just walked with my bag), yet just a short walk to York center. The stairs onto the famous York walls (at least one of the sections) are just across the road. The building is charming, both from the outside and from the inside. I loved every single bit of it. There is an elevator but the stairs are so beautiful that I preferred to climb them every time. I booked Executive room and it was absolutely amazing. The room was very spacious ,with large windows. The bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was large and very well planed. It seems that a lot of thought was put in the design, taking into account the little things: places to put things, lighting options (including closet light), various products (including mouth wash), two types of curtains on bathroom window and so on. This was one of the most comfortable rooms I ever stayed in. The staff was warm and welcoming, especially the gentlemen at the door and the cleaning team.

With views across York’s medieval walls, Grays Court is a beautiful historic house with leafy gardens, an intimate restaruant and free Wi-Fi. Fabulous hotel. Located right near York Minster and next to The Treasury. Staff are lovely and the nine course blind dinner was amazing!

With a high quality fresh design, Hotel Indigo York offers boutique guest rooms in the centre of York. Rooms are air conditioned and free WiFi is accessible throughout. The staff are friendly and happy to help with requests. The choice to have a hot breakfast made fresh was a nice change than heated trays of eggs and bacon. You could walk anywhere in York within 20 minutes.

Located overlooking the city’s Roman walls, The Hampton by Hilton York is opposite York Railway Station and a 10-minute walk from the historic centre. It was absolutely the best choice! I recommend this place to everybody :)

York on aivan ihana paikka suosittelen kaikille. Paljon nähtävyyksiä joita ei kahdessa päivässä kerinnyt käymään, kuten iso junamuseo (ilmainen) vähintään puoleksi päiväksi näkemistä. Lentokone museo kaupungista hieman kauempana. Chambles on aivan ihana pikku katu jossa on pieniä söpöjä liikkeitä. Pubit on todella kivoja Yorkissa ja ruoka hyvää. Kävellen oli helppo liikkua joka paikkaan. Ainut mikä jäi harmittamaan YORK:n vierailussa että aikaa oli liian vähän sillä katsottavaa olisi ollut vielä paljon.
Historiallinen, idyllinen kaupunki. Paljon vanhoja hienoja rakennuksia, kuten York Minster ja kaupunkia ympäröivä hyvin säilynyt muuri portteineen ja vartiotorneineen. Paljon kahviloita ja ravintoloita, kapeita keskiaikaisia katuja ja upea puistoalue Ouse-joen varressa. Oiva kohde viikonloppureissulle, kaikki kohteet ehtii hyvin nähdä 2-3 päivässä.
Vanha opiskelukaupunkini jaksaa yhä viehättää kahden vuosikymmenen jälkeen. Ihana paikka. Entisenä asukkaana matkailijavirroiltakin voi sulkea silmät. Kiva kun on menoa ja meininkiä ympärillä.
A great place for a family city holiday! Kids can walk safely in York’s big historic city center and lots to see gor both kids and adults. We remommend to hire a private boat to see the city from the river and to enjoy the museum parks in order to enjoy a nice laze holiday feeling.
Ihana kaupunkikohde historiasta kiinnostuneelle. Yorkista on helppo tehdä retkiä myös läheiselle maaseudulle. Päiväretki nummille ja johonkin rannikkokaupunkiin ( itse kävimme Whitbyssä ) kruunaa matkan. Erityisesti kesäaikaan rannikkokaupungeissa kannattaa varautua ruuhkiin ja tungokseen.
York on mukava kaupunki bossa riittää nähtävää ja tekemistä vaikka vähön pidemmäksikin aikaa, jos et halua pysyä vain kaupungissa. Kaupungin ulkopuolella on runsaasti lisää nähtävää ja koettavaa.
Pubin yläkerrassa huone todella tilava ja kiva sekä siisti. Aamupala hyvä ja sai valita eri vaihtoehdoista, mikä hyvä asia eli ei pelkkää papuja ja paahtoleipää. Juna-asemalle kävelee noin kymmenen minuuttia. Suosittelen Yorkia ja hotellia lomakohteeksi sen historian ja nähtävyyksien sekä todella mukavien paikallisten vuoksi. :) Aikuisille ilman lapsia matkustaville tämä pub siis käy vallan mainiosti yösijaksi.
Hotelli sijaitsi kävelyetäisyydellä kaupungin keskustasta ja tärkeimmistä nähtävyyksistä, silti hotellihuone oli rauhallinen. ei liikenteen melua. Hyvät vuoteet ja siistiä sekä ystävällinen henkilökunta. Etukäteen varmistettu parkkipaikka autolle löytyi hotellin pihasta. Todella hyvä aamiainen ja kahvit/ tee tarjoiltiin pöytään. Viihdyimme hienosti ja voin suositella hotellia muille.

Ihana, rauhallinen hitelli. Erittäin tilava ja käytännöllinen yhden hengen huone. Erinomainen aaamianinen. Palvelu oli todella ystävällistä. Kannattaa käydä myös museossa, hotelliin liittyy kiinnostava tarina ja näyttely on toteutettu hyvin. Kaunis kappeli sijaitsee hotellin sisällä.
Aamiainen oli runsas ja gluteenittomat ruuat oli hyvin merkitty joten keliaakikkokin pärjäsi hienosti. Tarjoilija toi myös pyydettäessä gluteenitonta paahtoleipää. Henkilökunta oli ystävällistä ja palvelu pelasi niiden viiden päivän ajan kun oleskelimme hotellissa.
Huone siisti ja tilava. Hyvin varusteltu keittiö. Hyvä sijainti lähellä keskustaa. Mukavat vuoteet. Ruokakauppa hotellin vieressä. Tämä hotelli sopii hyvin allergiselle henkilölle kuten minä.
Ihanaa sijaintia Yorkin keskustassa heikensi jatkuva huoli (ja hinta) vuokra-auton pysäköinnistä.

The hotel is an hidden gem only 15 minutes walk from the centre of York. The interiors are unbelievable. The hall, the bar and the dining room with the allure of an old and magnificent Manor and the rooms with a quirky yet modern design. The room was clean and of the right size for a one night stay (would have easily have stayed there a couple of nights tho) and it had everything you could ask for. I highly recommend having breakfast in their dining room as it's one of the best breakfasts I've ever had on UK soil. The hot breakfast choices (from full English to avocado on toast) are beautifully cooked and the buffet provided you with everything you may want for your continental breakfast including a selection of lovely pastries, cereals and yoghurts and several choices of juices. Mark, one of our waiters in the brekkie room, was an absolute sweetheart and after my other half commented that the hash browns were so good he could have had one more, he went out of his way to make sure another one arrived at our table before we left to check out. Outstanding service through and through and we would definitely be back here on our next visit to York!

Hosts were fantastic and the room itself couldn't have been better with beautiful facilities, fantastically stocked and clean. We had a fantastic stay in the most perfect picturesque location with something to do at every turn.
