This is the first review I've ever left for a hotel, and I couldn't not write it. The hotel had just opened when I arrived, the grounds weren't fully finished yet, and for the first few hours I thought I'd cut my stay short. I ended up staying because of the special atmosphere of the place, right next to an 11th century temple. Special thanks to the general manager, Nika. He personally walked me to the temple, showed me a restaurant with incredible ice cream made from their own matsoni, and made sure my days there weren't boring while the infrastructure is still being finished. Attentive, thoughtful, and genuinely invested in making guests want to come back. The beds were extremely comfortable, which matters a lot to me since I travel constantly and live mostly in hotels. The food was excellent, and the khachapuri was the best I've had in Georgia. Right next to the hotel are two incredible temples: an 11th century monastery for men and a 5th century one for women, both remarkably well preserved with an amazing energy. I probably wouldn't have discovered them without Nika. Even though the infrastructure is still a work in progress, the service already matches the best luxury hotels I've stayed at. Definitely include this place on your route through Georgia. It's one of my two favorite hotels in the country.
