Everything was perfect; the rooms were clean, location is convenient (away from the sound of construction and very close to the Lamaria Church and Etnographic Museum), food was superb. It was the best breakfast and dinner I had in Georgia; I was served Kubdari, Khacapuri, different types of local cheeses, perfectly grilled potato with tkemali sauce, a type of taps with eggplant, fruits and lots more. As a cherry on top, they helped me to find a transportation back to Mestia at a fair cost. If I visit Ushguli again, I will definitely stay in this guesthouse.

Amazing to be able to stay in a 12th century house in the middle of the unesco world heritage site. Felt transported back in time. But that isn’t the highlight at this amazing spot. The family was incredible. So welcoming and professional and warm. The mom cooked with heart and the results were delicious and plentiful. The kids were great at English and fun to chat to to learn about life in this area. The dad is a carpenter and dedicated to preserving local history. He can also drive you back to mestia. A highlight on our trek from mestia to ushguli for sure.

Staying at Raul’s was our favourite night on our Mestia hike. Not only is Raul’s place incredible and interesting, but Raul himself is a kind and warm man.
