SwitzerlandGetting to Nuuk can be a real difficulty given the weather--we were delayed by several days coming from Iceland due to multiple canceled flights. But the hotel staff were very understanding, and we were not penalized at all. We found the staff to be kind and caring, and the rooms were tastefully decorated. This is a winner.

Some good restaurants, pubs and museums. easy to get to and from airport by bus or taxi (or even walking if you're up for it and have light luggage!--about 5 km) nice scenery around town. Note: there are no roads leading out of this city. It's boat or plane only!!
If you venture further afield in Greenland, note that domestic flights can be cancelled multiple times (my flight was cancelled two days in a row), so give yourself many days on either side of any critical transport bookings (i.e. you don't want to miss your international flight!)

Beautiful place, easy access to look around on a tour boat, food was good, people were friendly.
Airport was very slow to check people in and get bags checked.
Overall, an excellent experiance with just one full day and 2 nights.

I travel a lot, but this was the first time I travelled to a play where the only thing to do was mingle with the people. Nuuk is a really small city and I was able to go around the city on the bus. By riding the bus, I got to see a lot of the suburbs of Nuuk and it was easy to move around.
What I was surprised that was the Nuuk Museum, not the cultural center, but the museum down by the water. There was a lot of history packed into that tiny building.
It's a must see if you're headed there.

We visited Nuuk for 2 days following a trip to Ilulissat.
We visited Nuuk for 2 days following a trip to Ilulissat. We loved the Colonial district. Had a great meal at The Unicorn, a Sunday morning dip with a regular group that meet at 9.30am every Sunday apparently, a couple of really interesting museum visits and a board walk as well as lots of leisurely strolls in between. You’ll find that Nuuk (Greenland in general) is very expensive but I would highly recommend Nuuk as a must see location as part of a more extensive trip to
Ilulissat for example. For our June trip, weather was amazing. No coats required!! But do always check in advance.

Nuuk is so friendly and walkable.
Nuuk is so friendly and walkable. So much to see that is accessible on foot, yet a boat tour on the fjord is a must. Museums, shopping, history, nature, cuisine, and culture -- Nuuk has it all. And communication with visitors is not a big problem since most residents speak adequate English.

I would think twice about going back too Nuuk becasue of the issues they have with their airport. It was closed to all international flights becasue of the Danish aviation department not being satisfied with teir seciroty screening. My flight was just canceled and had no idesa when the airport was gfoing to open again to International flights. I would give them a few years to get things sorted out before I ever went back. Such a shame because its absolutley beautiful and the people are so friendly.

Very comfortable place with the best possible location in Nuuk. Ingo was gracious to pick me up from the port and gave a free upgrade as there still was some renovation taking place in the room I booked. Free coffee was also a nice bonus.

Perfect location within walking distance of Nuuk town. The house has 5 rooms in total which makes it feel like a home rather than a hostel. The hosts were amazing and went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed.
