Offering garden views, Tendinkoto Lodge in Sanyang offers accommodations, free bikes, an outdoor swimming pool, a garden and a terrace. Friendly service that made me feel welcome and comfortable. A clean, fresh room, a nice shower and a yummy breakfast - (that I ate too much of every morning because it was soo good ) - got me ready for my adventures in The Gambia every day. (The lovely couple that owns the lodge, also runs a restaurant only a few kilometers away, that had great food, wirh both local and international dishes. Very convenient to have a good restaurant in the vicinity I learned. ) I particularly want to mention the beautiful gardens of the lodge, that invited me to take a stroll or to just sit back and look up at the tree tops, where exotic birds and the not-too-shy monkeys entertained me with a reality show that made me forget all about Netflix. :) My favourite position however to enjoy the scenery, was floating on the back in the wonderful pool, located right in front of the door - the perfect place to start or end the day-or why not both :) For me, this was a comfortable, beautiful and safe place, that still was part of, and close to the local scene, so I felt connected to it. This was my first visit to The Gambia but not the last. And I will stay here next time too.

Greg and Maria are very helpfull. The food is excellent, especially the butterfish which is the best we have tasted here in Gambia.
Sanyang is a nice african village. Here you can experience everyday African life without tourist influences. I had dinner at Arijana - just heavenly - Resort. I got this insider tip, as the restaurant is normally not open for the public. I asked and the owner Maline Lowe cooked great shrimps From Sanyang it is easy to get wherever you want by taxi! In any case view the Paradise Beach
As always Sanyang is my favourite resort in Gambia. There is no pressure or hassle on tourists. There are a number of small beach bars where the locals are happy and friendly and will rustle up a bbq with fish caught fresh that day. If you like African drumming the local band play every afternoon and are some of the best drummers in the Gambia. They have just built a Drumming Workshop right on the beach so anyone wanting the learn djembe can have lessons from very experienced musicians at a very reasonable price. Getting into the Village during the okay is just 5 mins in a local taxi and costs about £1. the only problem is after 9pm at night going out is difficult
On the first contact it looked a nice fisherman harbourg. The local buisnessboys were overwhelming and agressive, iff you ventilated different opinion with them, they became agressive. There was for me a feeling of unsafety and leack off local outhoritys.
Wonderful location with probably the best beach in Gambia.Very Chilled atmosphere, for those who want a peaceful and restful time.Very friendly adjacent African bars with local music events, wrestling and Reggae party on the weekend.
In sanyang there is a lack of information on what to visit or how to go to different places. Sanyang is very tiny but Berkama is not far away, I would say it's about 10 minutes away by car. Berkama is very typical and people are always smiling but they do not hassle you.
It was amazing with place with great staff. I will recommend many to visit the place.
