Enjoying a convenient location is the center of Alexandroupoli Town, Apartment Hotel Athina offers rooms and suites that open to a balcony. It features a garden and sun terrace. The buffet breakfast included a wide selection of beverages and foods ranging from fresh orange juice to fresh fruit and cereals. Our suite was roomy and comfortable, including a small kitchenette with simple utensils to fix snacks and beverages. It was cleaned daily; and towels, soap, and paper were replenished. The staff was very helpful at all times and levels. The hotel is located in a fairly quite street right at the center of the city, a short walking distance from two large supermarkets banks, and the main shopping district. Also a short walking distance to cafes, restaurants, and the waterfront.

A great place for beach life and to explore the area, take a trip off the main drag and explore the mountains and plains for the area , its was busy in the centre off season, prepare for crowds when the summer hits. restaurants in the area are hit and miss with prices around 30 euro for two for a very basic meal ,without alcohol in 2023, want fish or seafood then add a lot more. I cant believe they are still charging 2-3 euro for a small portion of bread which seems to be mandatory, english not spoken everywhere, bring your phase book. easy access to islands if you can find a place to book your ferry.

Alexandroupoli (Dedeağaç) is the nearest town in Greece to Turkish border. Therefore it attracts lots of Turkish tourists especially on weekends. There are many good taverns amd bars. We like it very much. I would recommend Agora for meat lunch, Nisiotiko and Saint George's Tavern in Makri (10km) for seafood dinner. Avoid sundays if you like to do some shopping all shops are closed.

Both the city and its surroundings are great. Shops and especially, bars, cafes and restaurants are so good (and plenty to chose from) in both the town's lovely riviera which ends at its famous lighthouse and in the interior. A pity that the brand- new Archaeological Museum was closed. This is very much a bicycle friendly (although you need have your one since no rented ones are, sadly, available. Near by are amazing places to visit. Not just in the summer by the way (which is thankfully cooler than in the South of mainland Greece) but all year round, especially for nature lovers.

For the check in day the host also provided us with fruits , marmalades and a bottle of wine . The location is wonderful in the center with great restaurants , cafes and bars .The location is also relatively not far from the xarama beach( in general beach areas of alexandroupoli) 20 -25 minutes of walking distance.

Wonderful hotel . Very big, spacious and clean rooms. Tv , kitchen appliances were very modern. Location is central. The bed was very comfortable and clean. I arrived before check in and the receptionist lady let me check in early. That is very nice when you are coming from an intense tiring trip. I will definitely stay here when I am in Alexandroupoli again.
