The location, facilities, and especially the staff made our stay so memorable. The staff was so attentive to our needs and were so kind and friendly. They gave us recommendations, made sure we were always ok, and also helped us with anything we needed. The only thing to know is parking is very tough. Narrow one way street with not many parking spots, so if you are driving to the hotel just keep this in mind. The hotel staff did a phenomenal job assisting us with parking. They just didn't make us fend for ourselves. So for that we were super grateful!! Also once we parked we never needed to move our car because the hotel is in the best walkable area to all the hot spots and great restaurants on the old port!!

A fantastic place of historic significance with several sightseeings. The locals are very welcoming and there are great locations to eat and drink while enjoying a great view. There are several famous beaches in the area which require transportation but you can also enjoy the sea even inside the town. The Old Town is fantastic place to do shopping, walking, eating and enjoy either with friends or enjoy solo.

Chania town is a lovely old town with comforting and welcoming ambiance with lovely locals. Full of traditional Cretan restaurants. I'd recommend looking for the ones with live music. Just search for "taverna with music" on Google Maps. The walkable Nea Chora beach is highly recommended. There are many offers of cruises at the port of Chania.
A note about "bougatsa" (Greek Custard Pie) that many recommend, citing a famous shop. Sorry, I feel it is too overrated. If you don't have much time you can skip that.
Parking: Use the free parking at "Kladisos Regional Parking" that is well outside the city. It is safe and has a free shuttle service to and from the old town every 20 minutes. Very recommended.

Chania is a great town, very bustly but not a party town.
Chania is a great town, very bustly but not a party town. It has developed a lot since our last visit about 8 years ago with lots of trendy upmarket restaurants and bars now but there are still a lot of cheap giros places for a cheaper meal - Giros Chania on the harbour front was our favourite Lots of nice shops to look around.
Neo Chora beach is a lovely beach area which again has been developed since our last visit.
Weekly market, open air cinema, football shop/museum, open top bus tour.

Chania is a beautiful city. We visited:
Chania is a beautiful city. We visited:
- Archaeological Museum
- Maritime Museum
- Byzantine and Post-Byzantine collection
- Old Venetian Harbor
It's also ideal to make a few excursions:
- archaeological site of Aptera
- Agia Triada monastery
- Katholiko monastery
- Lake Kournas
- Botanical Garden (the largest I've ever seen)
We also did the Samaria Gorge, though we wouldn't recommend it as people that don't hike on a regular basis. If you want to do the entire Gorge, make sure to arrive in time (after 1pm you're only allowed to do the first 2 km and back).

Beautiful port town, reminiscent of Venice, Italy.
Beautiful port town, reminiscent of Venice, Italy.
Beaches nearby, fun, culturally rich with lots of ruins and architecture to explore, lovely local people, amazing Greek food, and other cuisines available in town.
Chania has everything! Olive oil locally sourced is worth taking home, everything you might want is available to buy in the town.
But high season I hear is unbearable for the sheer volume of people there, we were there just at the end of the summer season ( early September) and it was busy, but no problem.

Chania town is beautiful and so is the lovely harbour.
Chania town is beautiful and so is the lovely harbour. Full of character, with pretty wee streets. Great vibe. In fact, it is a labyrinth of streets, all flowing into one another.
The restaurants are equally characterful and pretty, with candles and lovely lighting. Food very good, especially the stifado and kleftiko. We only managed to see one side of harbour and adjoining streets, but there is many more.
The far side of the harbour where a lot of the young people go, with music etc etc.
Love the place.
Spotless modern apartment in a quiet street, very close to the Harbour and the center of Chania. The manager, Katerina, was fantastic, helpful and kind. She helped us rent a car for 3 days for a good price, gave us information about beaches and restaurants nearby, and advised us what places we must visit in Crete. It is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in, concerning cleanliness, helpfulness, and fantastic management.
We would return next time to this great hotel and wonderful people!
Wow, amazing. I really wasn’t expecting this high quality of a room for the price I paid. Everything is high quality; from the comfort of the bed to the high tech air conditioning you normally only find in 5 star hotels. The location is also in the heart of the heart of the old town and yet was still quite at night! A bottle of wine left for me as well :) I will always try and book this place whenever I visit Chania. Excellent communication by staff. Highly recommended.
What an amazing place !
I stayed there with my little boy.
Location is amazing ! Sea by the entrance. Lovely sandy beach, great for kids as shallow.
15 mins walk from Chania town centre.
Lots of nice restaurant next to it by the beach.
I really loved Chania!
Staff are friendly. Lovely blonde lady on the reception and a lovely housekeeper.
Room was very clean, bed very comfortable.
We stayed only one night, but I could go back any time.
5 star hotel for me.
Hanim is finding a piece of 'home' on holiday, hospitality, friendship, the right tips, delicious breakfasts and the discovery of the island through them (it's a good opportunity to enjoy the most authentic flavors of Crete)
A nicely decoreted and clean room, in the Old Town. Hanim has made our holiday in Crete special!
Next time in Chania we will be with you again!
See you soon Rena, only the best to all you! :)
