The room environment here is excellent, and the host is very welcoming and enthusiastic. When he saw that I was traveling alone with a lot of luggage and there happened to be a room available, he allowed me to check in early. The service was also very thoughtful; I could contact him directly with any questions. As I was leaving, the host was having a barbecue and he even shared some local food with me, which made my trip absolutely delightful. I'm so grateful to this host for providing such a wonderful accommodation experience, and I will definitely recommend him to my friends!

The houses are in a nice and quiet place, next to the mountains. It is a bit hidden, when you come with the car, especially later in the evening. The entire property was very clean and very nicely set up with the pool, the houses/ flowers and sunbeds.

The beach is amazing, one of the most beautiful we've ever visited. Water is turquoise and sand is truly pink at the water's edge. Loved long walks, shore swims and the sand was amazing. Next to the beach is a conservation area that is really lovely and I enjoyed the walk! Walk across the relatively shallow water to the island to the right of the main beach. Get there early especially on weekends else all the lounge chairs will be taken! Do NOT park at the first parking lot as you enter town, the rates are MUCH higher than the $5 lot that comes next!

If you don’t stay overnight in the village and come by car,...

If you don’t stay overnight in the village and come by car, there are plenty of parking spots (3–5 € per day). The beach is beautiful — best to visit early in the morning (8–11) or later in the afternoon (16–19) when it’s less crowded. A small disadvantage is that there are only two tavernas nearby, and the mini market sells water at a higher price than elsewhere in Crete.

It's a nice beach and especially good if you are traveling...

It's a nice beach and especially good if you are traveling with young children since the water is shallow and warm. For my personal taste the main beach is too crowded and touristy and would prefer quieter more rugged beaches, but it was a great destination traveling as a family with a toddler because it was safe and clean and we were staying at a hotel within walking distance from the beach.

Great beach with varied water levels and temperatures from 20 to 30o C in the summer I’d say. Walk and swim around to find your perfect spot. The sand is wet in most of the places. A lot of nature but heavily visited especially on Mondays and Tuesdays from what it seemed to is during our stay. Two beach bars, two restaurants above, several room rental places, two supermarkets and some shops. Prices are a bit high from Crete, especially in the supermarkets, but still good options. The connection to Kissamos and Chaina is not bad, please not there is a new motorway section in the mountains that bypasses Topolia and its gorge tunnel that is not in Google maps yet.

Elafonissi beach is truly spectacular.

Elafonissi beach is truly spectacular. Definitely worth a visit. The beach is very crowded. The only alternative beach within a radius of 20 km has natural shade from trees (convenient in the wind). In case of wind, it is also quite crowded.

Elafonissi beach is beautiful but can get very crowded. Paddle over to the island for more secluded areas. It is well worth the effort The taverna at Elafonissi village is excellent value for food and drinks with friendly staff who never make you feel hurried

The hospitality of Nikos and Maria is outstanding. Maria gave us a warm welcome and offered valuable recommendations for places to visit. Nikos assisted us with planning our hiking routes on the island. Both of them and their staff were always willing to help and consider our needs. I would highley recommend the hotel is you are looking for a beautifull and quiet place to stay without any mass tourism.

We had breakfast and diner in the restaurant managed by the hotel owners and were very satisfied as well, excellent food and very nice staff.
