The lady at reception was lovely. We drove to Sitia and realized we had left our passports and money belt in a drawer. She was phoned and went up and found them and put them in her safe for us!! So kind of her. We will recommend her hotel!

We visited it after big towns like Chania and Rethymno, so we felt like it is very small and quiet.
If you want a long walk, you can go to the Kalydon island, see some goats and Chapel of Saint Luke.
The restaurants near the sea are pretty fancy, the prices are high enough.
If you want to taste the real Greek cuisine go to Coha Grill House.
This is a real taverna with absolutely delicious food and welcoming atmosphere. And the prices are fair.
Also you can take a boat to Spinalonga island. I recommend, the history of this island is impressive.
It takes about 20 minutes to reach it and costs 14 euros back and forth.
The boats departure every 30 minutes from 10.30 a.m. till 4.30 p.m.
All in all I can say that this place is suitable for older people or for people who don't prefer active rest.
Energetic people will be bored here.

Elounda is a very relaxing place with everything...plenty of boat trips for fishing and ferries to Spinalonga. Beach and restaurants within walking distance with plenty of places to sit for those not just as mobile. There are buses to travel to Plaka and Nicos Longa. There is also a small tourist train that takes you on a trip up to the mountains .

Elounda is a compact small town on a beautiful sheltered bay. Easy to walk around to visit shops and the many restaurants, tavernas and cafes. In high season it's very much a resort but it's also really nice to visit it out of season, when it's just a working town. There are expensive resorts and hotels outside the main town and it's obvious that there is sufficient income for the local authorities to keep the roads, pavements, infrastructure, etc., well maintained, unlike some other places on Crete.

Would be a charming town if not sooo many tourists who are being brough to Elounda with big busses to do boat tours.
Above has impact on prices and daily routine in the town, leaving little space for Cretean live-style.

Elounda is a great place - very pretty, everything you need is within walking distance - you dont really need a car. Beaches are close by, or you can walk further out to them. Bars and restaurants all around - some cheap and cheerful, some traditional some finer dining - but all are excellent.
You can get boats from the harbour/port to various places. Lots of places to visit - Spinalonga, Ag Nik, Heraklion, museums etc
Also if you like walking - there are a lot of options around the peninsula and along to Plaka.
It isnt cheap but isn't expensive. There are A LOT of English people who go to Elounda (regularly) - but its not full of sports bars or English breakfast places!
A really good place for a first timer to Crete or Greece.
Everybody is friendly and its a very chilled out place.
ok place to stay although the room side pools are in the shade making them pointless. Reception staff are rude and abusive making the stay worthless and pointless.
Cleaning staff don’t read the do not disturb and charge into the room regardless.
Reception staff try to make the billing as confusing as possible to enable over charging for drinks and food. highly recommend avoiding this hotel.
The area of Elounda is a great area which we would return too.
It's our third time to Elounda and we only just discovered this amazing hotel in the middle of this charming town, hidden in plain sight. With very high end furnishings, a well-laid out bathroom, nice towels, comfy bed and big balcony. They also provided lots of coffee, water and other treats (even a chocolate cake) with twice-a-day maid service. And the beach is only a three minute stroll away...
The best place to calm & enjoy the wonderful view of Elounda. All the suites have a private pool big enough for 4 people, sunbeds & tables.
Maria, the hotel owner, is very kind & always available to help you with any request!
If you need coffee/snack or even lunch local stores offer a delivery service! Every morning I ordered coffee & breakfast in my room within 15mins! (Ask Maria for details)
Very friendly staff, service was efficient with no formality,, rooms were relatively spacious and well appointed.
Having 2 small private beaches was fantastic to spend lazy afternoons in the sun without having to leave the hotel.
Very accommodating of a late check out.
Location was very convenient close to Elounda village.
Naiades Beach Hotel in Elounda exceeded all expectations. Impeccable service, breathtaking location, and luxurious amenities created an unforgettable stay. From the warm welcome to the stunning views, every moment was pure perfection. A true gem for an escape that deserves a perfect 10.
