Hotel in Makrinitsa
Located in the scenic village of Makrinitsa, Hotel Adam features traditional accommodations with views of the Pagasetic Gulf or Pelio Mountains. The hotel is more like a warm and friendly family home to which you feel welcomed as a family member than a normal hotel. Its location can only be described as breathtaking, perched high above Volos and the Gulf. Every member of the Adam family, from grandmother to younger son, gave me help and information. Food and drink kept appearing as family gifts. The breakfasts were enormous, varied and tasty.

Set in a restored 18th-century mansion of local architecture, Melanthi Mansion offers rooms overlooking the Pagasetic Gulf and Volos Town. Amazing experience from welcoming to farewell! The hosts, Kiki and Vlassis, guided us before arriving and made sure we arrived safely and most efficiently. They offered us an excellent tsipouro and showered us with tips about restaurants, activities and anything that could make our stay in Makrinitsa memorable. Would definitely recommend Melanthi to anyone who wants to explore this beautiful part of Greece.

Located in scenic Makrinitsa, the 19th-century Archontiko Repana features traditional rooms with free Wi-Fi overlooking the Pagasetic Gulf or Mount Pelion. Great location, breathtaking view! Τhe owner, Mrs Demi, is a wonderful host, we felt very welcomed from the moment we arrived. Don’t hesitate to ask her for recommendations (local “hidden gems”, hiking trails, restaurants). Another highlight, not to be missed- the delicious breakfast she prepares!
Makrinitsa
Located at the highest point of Makrinitsa with panoramic views over Pagasitikos Gulf and Volos City, Archontiko Xantha offers traditional accommodations with fireplace. It was really a very nice experience. The upward road to reach the house is little inconvenient but totally worth it for the experience you will get. Amazing combination of sea and mountain view from the highest point of Makrinitsa. The homemade breakfast is delicious. Rooms are clean and cozy. Lastly but the most important the hosts, Triantafillos and Kelly, are very nice and very helpful in everything you may need especially if you are going first time in the region like me.

Offering garden views, 1822 Makrinitsa Suites in Makrinitsa has accommodations, a bar, a shared lounge, a garden and a terrace. Complimentary WiFi is offered throughout the property. This place is a real gem. We were greeted by Areti who was very welcoming and provided us with information about the property and the area. The view is absolutely breathtaking and the access to the property is very easy as it is only a few minutes walk from the parking and the fact that there is a lift is also of great convenience. The suites are spotless clean , elegant and the interior of the room decoration is beautiful. Areti and Anastasia are so kind and really take care of their guests. We had the most amazing breakfast with a lot of variety to suit all tastes and different options every day which were all home made. We will be back for sure in Spring. Thank you for such an amazing stay! 10+ hospitality :)

This modern hotel is conveniently located in Koukourava, merely 2.5 miles from Volos and 3 minutes drive from Makrinitsa Village with magnificent views of the forest, sea and valley. We loved the location, the view of the city of Volos was very clear and the river below the hotel was the only sound we could here. It is such a serene place and the rest here feels like being in a dream. The breakfast was amazing! Homemade, fresh and so delicious! Everyone of the staff was very polite, attentive and helpful.

Excellent views from almost every point in the village. Tons of character, with the cobble paths and the traditional houses. Just a note, getting around the upper part of the village is a proper hike. Everything you need (restaurants, shops etc) are on the lower part though so no worries :)
I would recommend staying i Makrinitsa for just a few days. If you wanna travel to places close by then it is a beautiful place to stay at. It can though be difficult going to places if you are not used to travel by car at these kind of small roads. Makrinitsa is small enough and 1-2 days may be enough.
Hotel very clean / the management of hotelvery good/ if you have no personal car, a bus go from Volos to the entrance în Makrinitsa, because în this village there no cars/ entrace not allowed and it is a good behaviour !
Beautiful mountain village with a perfect view over Volos and the sea. Though the road up the mountain is narrow and turning all the time - quite difficult. Close to Makrinitsa there is a short track route - Centaurus path, very picturesque. Also great fun was a trip on an old train from Ano Lechonia to Milies and back (buy tickets well in advance through TRAINOSE mobile application).
Beautiful old, village with great view over Pagasitic Gulf. Unfortunately we felt we were ripped off as it is a touristic place. We bought herbs 3 times more expensive than anywhere else because 1. we didn't know the prices 2. we were told they were from the region which could have not been the case. You can all herbs just about everywhere for 1/3 of the price! Don't fall into the touristic trap like us believing what you are told by the shop owners!
The arhitecture is marvelous and one of its kind and the streets are not crowded which is a plus for the visitors due to the lack of noises. Moreover, it is a traditional Greek village and a perfect location for those who want to relax and also to visit new surroundings.
The hostel is in a great location in Makrinitsa and has the benefit of free parking on premises, if you can get it (and you definitely want to!). The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home and the beds are comfortable too. If you’re in the 6-bed dorm and are fortunate enough to be in the first ‘chamber’, then you have both light and space. Even though the shared kitchen is off-limits due to Covid, they found me a kettle so I could still have coffee first thing.

The house is big and cosy and can easily accommodate 6-10 people. We liked sitting around the fireplace and there is an incredible view. It was very clean and warm and whatever we needed we could call John to assist. Makrinitsa is a beautiful village and is quite close on foot.

We really enjoyed our stay in Charis Guesthouse and we would definitely stay there again! The room was very comfortable and clean, the breakfast was exceptional, while the people in the hotel were very friendly and ready to help us for any request we had.
Stayed there for one night in early August. Beautiful location south of Makrinitsa village and traditional hotel. Big clean room with fantastic view. Amazing backyard area for breakfast and hanging out. Friendly and helpful staff. Value for money.

Excellent hosts! The view from the hotel is awesome, the hotel feels more like a guest house than a hotel and we had a fabulous breakfast. Too bad we were in a hurry and couldn't enjoy it.
