Very comfortable room. Shower was one of the best Ive used. Bed was clean and soft. Modern amenities, air conditioning system, lighting, outlets, etc. The breakfast was top notch, with both normal breakfast foods (i.e. eggs and bacon) and also some homemade breads, and baked casseroles. Breakfast is also on the roof with great view of the city. Hotel also has 24 hour lobby bar, 24 hour reception, swimming pool with lounge chairs and gym. The property host was very friendly, greeting me whenever I left/entered.

This was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at. The location is perfectly located at the edge of the old town, walking distance from the beach, giving the best of both worlds. My girlfriend and I stayed in the deluxe suite with the private plunge pool, and this was both very romantic and very needed in the warm Cretan summer.

Everything was exceptional—the architecture, the competent, professional, and happy staff—the buffets which were better than typical buffets—more gourmet tastes, excellent chef and beautiful copper Bain-Marie buffet serving pieces.

The maze of little streets in the Old Town with buzzy restaurants, plentiful bars and independent shops. The business owners were very friendly. Avoid eating directly in the Venetian port as although picturesque the restaurants are expensive and after eating there and being charged 80 euros for 'the fish of the day' locals such as taxi drivers and told us that restaurants there bump up the prices for gullible tourists.

Loved walking around the old town and finding surprises.
Loved walking around the old town and finding surprises. We took the mini train tour which was great. Didn’t have time to visit the beach and missed visiting the church on the cliff. Saw it from the train though. Definitely would recommend 3-4 nights stay.

So much history, true Crete feel. Stay in Old Town.
So much history, true Crete feel. Stay in Old Town. That’s where it’s all at. The harbor, shops restaurants, entertainment, safety , beach and great people. I’m a woman traveling solo. I never had a moment where I felt uneasy. So safe. Oh my gosh I love this part of Rethymno.

Small and cosy city by the sea.
Small and cosy city by the sea. It has many nice places to eat out in different price range. I liked most Achinos by the harbour. There is a place to watch the sunset. Local peolple are very nice and welcoming. Many shops to by souvenirs, also for those who would like to save money on hairdresser, nails, spa, massage there were options to choose from.
I particularly liked the fact that there was a farmers market once a week where it was possible to buy vegetables and fruits straight from farmers.

It was a warm, friendly town with very interesting sunsets, many bars, restaurants and tavernas with traditional Greek food, with a long coastline and soft white sand beaches. The climate was very good and the sun hot.

Staff were exceptional. From Dina and Filio who were most helpful and accomodated all our requests and answered all our questions always with a smile .The housekeeping team of maria and angelina did a great job everyday keeping our room tidy. The bar based at the hotel was very popular and there was never any issue with noise levels upsetting residents.Great location opposite the beach, close to a selection of bars and restaurants.Old Town is about 20mins walk away and best visited when the Sun goes down for the real magic
Sunset Apartments are a great choice if you want a base in Rethymno for spending time on the beach there as well as exploring the island of Crete. We got an excellent price for the basement apartment which was very cool, even in the soaring Greek heat! The beach is meters away, there's a limited amount of free parking (you can find more free parking places in the area too if needed) and there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants around. The apartment is well equipped and comfortable.
The hotel was newly refurbished very nicely. Our room was comfortable with a balcony with a sea view and a good shower. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was excellent, cooked freshly with a different choice everyday. The location was convenient, a short walk to the old town, harbour and beach.
We have stayed in 6 different places in Crete overall, this was the best one. Very modern and stylish decoration, super comfy shower, a nice patio, and that the hotel itself is just in the middle of Retyhmo old town, was perfect.
