It is a very nice very small city. In my opinion one weekend will be enough to see everything. Walking around the city you will be surprised with seeing interesting shops and restaurants in unexpected places. The long boardwalk is nice. The cafes along the long boardwalk is also nice to hang out / lounge for a few hours. The food is great but you need to know where to eat (small, packed and out of the way places are best). Ergon is always a safe bet as a nice shop/restaurant. Has a very small shopping street that doesnt have a lot of options but nice to peruse.

Lovely city! Have been here a few times.
Lovely city! Have been here a few times. Great restaurants and cafe's all over. I recommend Kitchenbar (https://kitchenbar.s2o.gr/) and Full tou Mezze (https://www.fullmeze.gr/). Ladadika district and Agora Modiano also good ideas for foodies. Don't get up too early in the morning, and don't eat dinner too early. The later, the livelier. Make sure to visit ROTUNDA, the Archeological museum and the White Tower (at least these 3!! but there are many more places to satisfy the history enthusiast).

It’s beautiful - I was here for the film festival so found the city very dynamic and just lovely with all its history and cafes, bars and restaurants. People were friendly and it’s a very manageable size of city. I will definitely come back, I was there for nine days having never been before, but would like to come back and stay for longer, the city has a great vibe and is very interesting too, lovely!

Thessaloniki, often seen as the Aegean counterpart to İzmir,...
Thessaloniki, often seen as the Aegean counterpart to İzmir, embodies a fascinating blend of shared history and coastal charm. Both cities mirror each other with their vibrant atmospheres and cultural depth, making them must-visit destinations for anyone interested in experiencing this unique connection.
Transportation: The city’s traffic can feel chaotic, with a noticeable disregard for standard rules; motorbikes frequently use sidewalks, and vehicles occasionally run red lights. This aspect of Thessaloniki may feel more reminiscent of Eastern cities rather than a typical European order.
Cuisine: Thessaloniki offers a diverse range of dining options, catering to tastes from various cultures and backgrounds, ensuring that visitors from all walks of life can find something delightful to enjoy.

Thessaloniki is a place full of history and well worth visiting. As well as the White Tower, museums, Byzantine churches, and historic sites, it is a good place from which to visit the surrounding areas - Pella, Vegrina, Edessa, Pozar, Dion, Mt Olympus and Halkidiki. And there are plenty of great places to eat, especially in the Ladadaka area, or to take a wander around the foreshore, Aristotelous square and the marketplace.

We had a pleasant stay at Anessis Hotel. It was not our first time here. Rooms were renovated in the past few years (new bathrooms, etc).
Very good location in the city center, just few minutes walk to Vardaris. Nice breakfast and 2 free parking spots right in front of the hotel. That is a big deal in the center of the city.
Excellent value for money if you're looking for one or two nights stay in Thessaloniki. Very nice and welcoming staff, 24h reception, great job guys!
Perfect hotel for a city stay in the center of Thessaloniki. Very convenient underground paid parking nearby. Excellent location for a walk in the city center or for shopping. The area is quite noisy but the windows are good and isolate well. Excellent breakfast with a lot of variety. Amazing staff.
Simple but lovely little hotel very close to Thessaloniki city center. The rooms were basic but comfortable, and the staff was extra friendly and helpful. I got a great dinner recommendation 😊 The breakfast was really delicious with nice offerings. Highly recommend!
I am traveling for a year and mostly staying in budget hotels. For my birthday I treated myself on a 5 star hotel and a nice room. Absolutely liked it. staff was nice and professional and the bottle of wine (and some treats) were very appreciated.
