Excellent place to stay, relax and enjoy history of Greece! We arrived late at the evening and were welcomed at the reception with no delay. Parking right on the place. Traveling a lot, we value such feature as very important bonus. The room has a nice view to swimming pool, clean, comfortable and has an air conditioner! Believe or not, that’s what you would like to have at 35 degrees outside. Big balcony, where you can enjoy your drinks and have no problem with mosquitoes. The pleasing receptionist gave us a direction to the nearest restaurant which was just about a 4 minutes driving away and located at city center. Good place and we would be happy to stay there during our next trip to Greece!
Offering a snack bar and meeting facilities, Hotel Meletiou is located in the center of Thiva City. It features air-conditioned accommodations with free WiFi access. Great staff, friendly and helpful
Enjoying a central location in the town of Thiva, the Neoclassical Dionysion features a bar and a snack bar. It offers air-conditioned accommodations with a flat-screen TV and free Wi-Fi. We were looking for a budget hotel and the price was right. There was a little confusion from other reviews about the parking, so I will clarify. The hotel does not have dedicated parking. But, while street parking is *sometimes* available, there is an excellent and secure pay-lot immediately behind the hotel and it is only 4 Euro for overnight. The uploaded pic from the bathroom window, looking south, shows the parking just below (with covers for most spaces). Location is excellent for Thebes--easy walking distance from things to see; notably the excellent archaeological museum and scatter ruins (I am an archaeologist). There is an excellent local restaurant a short half-block from the hotel door. Staff was friendly and helpful--we had a hiking boot failure and they directed us to a nearby shoe-repair place. Our room (4th floor; pic is from bathroom window) was quite spacious with a large double bed, desk/counter space, a mini-fridge, plenty of outlets, and a sliding door leading to a large outside balcony-deck (shared, but I never saw anyone else). The bath was standard size with full tub/shower and an opening window (which we like). Hot water was ample. Breakfast was the best surprise. The breakfast room was not large, as is usual for a small property, and I expected a "continental"-type cold breakfast. To my surprise, there was freshly-made scrambled eggs and bacon in addition to vegetables, breads (good toaster), yogurt, spreads, coffee, and juice. Breakfast time began at 06:30, which is unusual for a tourist hotel. I found that several working-men (contractor/electrical) were there at opening, and surmise the hotel is popular for them because of the good breakfast.

Located on a beachfront hillside, surrounded by lush Mediterranean vegetation, this Mediterranean-style villa offers eclectic accommodations in Skorponeria, set within a one-acre garden leading to a... A bleu-green paradise! When we booked this villa just for a short relax from our educative trip in Athens, we never though that we would be in such an amazing place, in a luxurious settlement with Mediterranean-style dwellings, lying in the middle of an untouched environment. The villa is located fabulous, having direct access in a long quite sandy beach, in which we have hardly seen during our stay a few people (in August)!!! The waters are always clear and peaceful, ideal to lye lazy on the surface with a water-mattress or to dive to the sea-bottom. The house is spacious, luxurious with artistic touches everywhere, spotless clean, highly equipped and provided with whatever sbd could (or could not) imagine, surprisingly cool as the breeze comes through the large openings from both sides, sea and mountain! Beyond every description is the hospitality and generosity of the hosts! Athina went out of her way to to show us all markets, restaurants, cafes in the nearest areas. Impossible to describe all that her parents had done for us to have a nice time! We recommend highly!

The town was beautiful, with a brand new Archaeological Museum. Everyone seemed very proud of their heritage and recommended that we go and visit - which of course we did! It was difficult to find a reasonably priced restaurant with a variety of options, one of our group was a vegetarian so it would have been good if it was easier to find more vegetarian options.
Thiva doesn't have much to offer, but the newly re-opened Archaeological Museum of Thebes is a MUST SEE. There are some antiquities scattered around the town but they are not much to see. So, the best things to do here are the museum, and get the best souvlaki I have *ever* eaten, at "To Spitiko" (Epameinondas 57, across the street from Hotel Meletiou).
Thiva looked like a place near highway easy to access, but acctualy it is very confusing, a lots of curves and going up and down, so it was really hard to find hotel we booked...there are much better places to see, for us it was a waste of time and money to stay there for one night. The only thing there to see are ruins from Mycenian period in town center...
