Nice view of river. Restaurant. Free filtered water on request. Staff carried my heavy duffle bag to and from my uphill room for me. Free transport to there from Languin and back to Languin with booking shuttle through them for Antigua. Could pay by cc.

Really lovely place close to Semuc Champey. Food is good and affordable and the staff is really helpful and kind. They were really helpful to get me transport options to Xela and even woke up at 5AM to make sure I'd catch the bus to Coban.

For us it was perfect. We stayed in a private room with private bathroom. You’re not paying high prices, so don’t expect a lot of amenities. It’s rustic and simple, but the property is beautiful and tranquil, surrounded by trees, along the river, with hammocks to lounge in. It’s also less than a ten minute walk to Semuc Champey. Can’t beat that! Levin was great. He took care of our requests and answered our questions and we felt very comfortable.

We chose this hotel because it’s where the overnight bus from Lake Atitlan would drop us off. So thankful for our decision - it was so convenient and they even let us check in when we arrived about 8am so that we could catch more sleep! The bedroom was very comfortable and the AC worked a treat. The breakfast options and coffee was pretty good too. And the staff were very nice. And the location also made our onward journey to Flores very simple too! What more could you ask for!

We truly loved our stay at the Mountain Nest! The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the peaceful, secluded setting made for an unforgettable experience. While the owners were out of town during our visit, Carlos stepped in and did an outstanding job taking care of everything in their absence. Both Carlos and the owners maintained excellent communication, ensuring all our needs were met promptly. A special highlight was the delicious meals prepared daily by Chona, Carlos’s wife. Both breakfast and dinner were home-cooked and absolutely delightful—a real treat that made our stay even more special. Getting to the cabin is an adventure in itself, but well worth it! Nestled in a charming indigenous village surrounded by the woods, the location offers a unique cultural experience. Watching the locals walk by to their homes added an authentic touch to our stay. If you’re looking for stunning views, warm hospitality, and a one-of-a-kind cultural experience, we highly recommend Mountain Nest. It’s a true hidden gem!

Getting around Chipoc is easy, they have now cemented the road down the mountain side so it makes traveling smoother. There is easy access to leaving semuc to nearby towns there are cars leaving (like buses) every few minutes. Everything was absolutely beautiful !!
