The staff was great. We paid a return transport From the airport to Teotihuacán. On the way to the hotel, i asked how much to take us to the sunrise balloon ride and to take us to the ruins after breakfast but he said it's free and we were surprised. He took us as well to eat dinner in an authentic Mexican restaurant and honestly the grilled beef was 11/10 my rating . It was funny because we said to have dinner at 730 pm . And we nessaged him that we were ready and he turned up. The following day, we had to go to our balloon ride at 6 am . It was already 610 am and we rung him . He said it's only 510 am . We didn't know that it was 1 hour backward. LOL

Lots of character and great food. Views for days, sunsets especially! Some fun water activities (party boat, kayaks, you can hike an island with a high viewpoint and visit the nearby town with a very quick scenic boat ride). Everything is walking distance with proper shopping, bus central and the airport all a quick tuk tuk ride away
Flores is a wonderful area to visit. It offers many opportunities to enjoy local Guatemalan culture, food, and activities both on and around gorgeous lake Peten. The entire island of Flores can easily be walked in under 3 hours. The main activity in the area is the ancient Mayan ruins of Tikal - a must see when in this region. A full day tour of the ruins can be arranged with little effort, and is highly recommended. An often-missed little gem, is the Mayan Museum on the tiny islet of Santa Barbara. A five-minute boat ride from the island of Flores cost about $4 dollars and this museum offers a small but interesting collection of artifacts discovered nearby. For a nice lunch or dinner, try "Raices" restaurant. It offers many delicious entrees and a fabulous view of Lake Peten. Enjoy your visit to beautiful Flores.
Flores is a surprisingly clean safe and beautiful location offering a Key West feel. There was lots to do in Flores and the surrounding area. Transportation was convenient and inexpensive. There were numerous excellent well priced restaurants. We originally planned to stay only long enough for a visit to Tikal but ended up staying a full week.
If you need to work while you are in Flores and you require WIFI, your choices are few and far between. I was told NOT to stay on the Island for this very reason, when in fact - the island is where we ended up finding the best wifi. The Island is definitely the best place to stay, lots of choices for accommodations and fun places to shop, eat and drink. Touring Tikal was incredible, our guide was the BEST! We spent about 5 hours there and were in AWE the entire time. We enjoyed Los Amigos restraunt (is also a hostel) and worked there for a few hours. We norrmally dont book hostels, but Los Amigos is a cut above and we really wished we would have stayed there instead of the place we stayed outside the city. The food, drinks and service was next level.
I came to Flores thinking it is a stop on my way north, but I discoverd a charming town in the middle of the lake, colorful houses, beautiful streets, options of boat riding, kayak renting, and more. The island is filled with restaurants, bars and coffee places with great view from all around. It is a perfect place to take a day or two to relax and enjoy nature.
Beautiful, small island on a lake with gorgeous views all around. You can walk everywhere on the island. Great for a few days relaxing by the water. Plenty of restaurants, bars and shops with access to boat trips around the island. Only 1 hour from Tikal. Recommend Hotel Casazul for their great rooms and terrace and Cool Beans cafe for breakfast.
Flores
Best hostel in Flores and one of the best I’ve ever stayed at! Dorms and bathrooms were sparkling clean and spacious, nice sheets, TWO pillows, towel, soap and shampoo provided. Excellent kitchen and gorgeous common areas, with the bonus of a beautiful terrace overlooking the lake (you can literally cross the street and go for a swim). But the best of all were the staff, they all became my friends immediately. I forgot my passport at the hostel and the owner himself came to the airport to bring it to me. Do I need to say anything else?
location was fine, Flores is a very small island, i don't think you can have a 'bad' location. The owner was very friendly and helpful, told us good places to go and things to do, allowed us to store our bags and also gave us a ride to the airport for a fee, which made that easier for us.
Beautiful hotel with great meals. Breakfast is very good and we had 2 delicious dinners as well. The staff is very nice and we had a great bird watching walk with Oscar. We can definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back.
Nice hotel on the coast of Peten Itza lake. Location is good, within walking distance to Flores town center. Stuff was polite and helpful, WiFi was working well. Food was good. Overall, it is a good place to stay in Flores.
The view is the best, spacious room, hot water in the room and delicious coffee every morning. the staff and property is not as the bad reviews say. I would stay 10 more times at this hotel. it is my favorite
Best location in Flores!!! The room was very clean, the view was fantastic, and the stuff helped us with everything we needed and more, especially Carlos!
