Everything. I had an excellent room with a view of the water. Very clean and comfortable. I ate at the restaurant for 3 days because it was so good and the prices so good. Close to everything. I swam in the lake. Looks like they are completing a roof top area which will make this Hotel even better. They clearly know what they’re doing at Hotel Casa Amelia! I highly recommend

Flores is the best place to stay outside of Guatemala city...
Flores is the best place to stay outside of Guatemala city to see most of the touristic attractions. Excursions to all of the monuments in Peten region are possible from the hotels or many small agencies in the town, as well as transfers to Palenque, Belize, and Lake Atitlan.

The area of Flores is lovely and fun to explore.
The area of Flores is lovely and fun to explore. It is not a large area so if you are looking for days of exploring you need to go elsewhere. If you are looking for a relaxed, yet charming, few days then this is where to go.

The island has really noce restaurants and night activities.
The island has really noce restaurants and night activities. it is really easy to get around and people is willing to help you with directions.
Prices are much higher on the island, so is better to buy the stuff you need (sun block for example) outside of Flores.
We had a local guide that took us for the sunrise on tikal were you get to enter the park at 4AM and walk in the jungle still at night.
Then we did the sunset in Yaxha which is amazing.
Flores is a 10 min drive from the airport, so its a really good point for staying.

Loved the walk around Flores and all the little shops.
Loved the walk around Flores and all the little shops. Great ice cream place on lakeshore. Yummy !
When we got tired from walking after 5 miles that day( not all there) we hired a tuk tuk to bring us back to the hotel. Will definitely be returning there for a longer stay.
Boat tours looked interesting for a future adventure.
We drove and had to get used to the one way streets to get around Flores and find our hotel but so worth the effort. Parking was not an issue though. We parked at hotel and took off on foot

Airlines are a mess.
Airlines are a mess. Avianca overbooked my flight into Flores and was booked the next day. Tag Airlines delayed 2 hours and 15 minutes my flight into Guatemala City. I have been seating at the airport in Flores over 4 hours and I am expected to get to Guatemala City around 0:30 Am (I was supposed to arrive at 10:15 pm)
The staff and breakfast are the best thing. The hostel is located at Flores island. The owner is the sweetest person and he also trained the staff to act like the same. The guy from the night shift antecipated breakfast so I could eat something before my tour at 6:00 am. I felt so privileged, there was fruita, brad and peanut butter with jelly along with freah coffee. 💕.
Lovely hotel just outside Flores island. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean, quiet room (best nights sleep so far in Guatemala) nice pool area to relax,10 min walk to Flores or to waterside restaurants. Upstairs balcony was gorgeous for relaxing in a hammock. Would stay again.
honestly one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in, very pretty. private room was big with en-suite. comfy bed, hot shower with decent pressure and really strong wifi and AIRCON - 100% needed whilst in Flores.
