Set in Pomena, Apartments Lorena Mljet offers accommodation with a balcony, kitchenette and free WiFi. All units are air conditioned and include a seating and/or dining area. The hosts met us as arranged and were really friendly. The Apartment was great and the view from the balcony was spectacular. We were booked in for three nights and had Apartment Number 1, which is the best apartment in the block. We did the walk around the big salt water lake twice and the walk around the smaller lake once. We took the ferry to the monastery in the middle of the big lake and enjoyed the ruins. We swam in the big lake by the bridge where the sea water enters the lake and saw some hard coral and a tube worm. The supermarket just across from the Apartment had a good selection of food stuffs and was reasonably priced. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Mljet and can highly recommend the Apartment.
Set within Mljet National Park, just steps away from the beach, Guest House Matana Pomena features a restaurant with terrace. It boasts sea views and offers free WiFi access. The room had a great balcony. It was simple but exactly what we needed. The family who own the guest house were very friendly and helpful. Also, there is a small fridge in the room which is perfect for a few bottles of water!
Located in the heart of Mljet National Park, Guesthouse Pomena is surrounded by sea and nature and set in a quiet area without traffic. The owner was very friendly and relaxed which made us feel good. Croatia is generally a really friendly place, the town is small takes 5 mins to walk up and down. We had a balcony in our room, a bit of sea view and good for drying towels and wet clothes from swimming. There's a low powered hairdryer, cooker, cups and saucepans. Comfy bed and sofa bed for my cousin. It was so hot (the island, not the apartment) that we opened all the windows to sleep and still slept well. Ate downstairs in the restaurant at night :)

Set in the National Park on Mljet Island, Hotel Odisej is located on the beach of Pomena. It is entirely air-conditioned and houses a restaurant. Free Wi-Fi is available at the reception. Close to the ferry and national park. Great stuff
Situated within the Mljet National Park in Goveđari, Villa Jezero features accommodation with a seating area. Free WiFi is available throughout the property. This is a very special place to stay for people who love quiet and nature. We stayed in a room with two balconies, in a beautiful old villa, right on a salt-water lake, surrounded by trees in Mljet national park. We ate platters of delicious fresh grilled fish and vegetables from the lake and carafes of wine served to us on our terrace, prepared by our host Anton. This is family-run accommodation, in an outstanding location. Our hosts could not have been friendlier or more hospitable. 10 out of 10
Fantastic island with plenty of hikes cycling and areas to swim. Regret not having time to travel to Odysseus Cave from Pomena. Worth checking ferry times if travelling in late season as only one leaving island on certain days at 0630 meant we 'lost' majority of day travelling. Kikos kobena next to property does lovely grilled food at great vfm.
Mljet is a lovely island. If you are planning to explore all island then hire a car is necessary as no public transport available. We had only 2 full days there and explore area around Pomena and salt lakes. Beautiful sun sets and sea views, snorkeling and hiking, lovely sea food in local restaurants. Just relax and enjoy!
Pomena is a small village with a mini supermarket, bike rental kiosk and a few restaurants and hotels. Very convenient for the catamaran to Split / Korčula / Hvar / Dubrovnik. Easy for walking, kayaking and cycling in the national park. A quiet place to stay, but close to everything we wanted with a lovely view of the sunset from the bar at the end of the harbour. Bike hire was the best way to explore the National park and visit Polace. We spent two nights, but could have stayed longer and seen the rest of the island.
It was so relaxing sitting in a bar watching he sun go down over gin and tonics. The walks around the lake were most enjoyable as was the swimming. Everyone was so friendly The highlight, watching a dolphin swimming in he bay at dusk, we were very honoured!
Loved our walks and swimming in the lakes of this beautiful national park. Make sure you mention that you are staying on the island and you entry ticket will be validated for longer (it is quite expensive)
Pomena is great for links to the ferry and getting to the national park, but that's all. The port area is very small with limited restaurants and grocery stores. There not an awful lot to do other than the national park (which you have to pay 125 per person for entry to) we hoped to rent bikes to explore the national park but we couldn't justify the high cost after we paid to get in to the park itself. But if you are not short on funds there are loads of bike rental places in pomena and some in the park itself including kayaks and stuff to
